However, while working together, Puff and Spongebob come to know each-other outside of that student-teacher dynamic, and Puff realizes that outside of boating, Spongebob is actually a skilled and intelligent individual, especially at work, leaving us with a nice, wholesome ending with which the two better understand one-another.

Couldn’t agree more. That episode is a perfect example of Krabs being remorseful because he’s not disregarding his employee’s life or job. He thought that he would win his poker game against Plankton, which the episode makes a good explanation of why, and made a mistake. There’s a difference between being sorry and paying the price. This is kind of why I hated the episode in which SpongeBob gets amnesia. Aside from SpongeBob forgetting who he is serving NO affecting purpose to the plot, everyone who’s supposed to be his friends show little to no sincere care about SpongeBob or how they acted over “accidents”. Squidward’s understandable. He has a reason to hate SpongeBob. For everyone else it’s too much out of character or in Krabs case his worst trait amplified. When Krabs does everything from extortion to animal abuse it’s kind of hard to sympathize with him or depict him as the good guy unless he learns some kind of lesson and changes for the better or gets served a dish of karma. In the episode that you mentioned, he didn’t do anything wrong. Plankton was biding his time and pretty much played Krabs yet we see Krabs as heartbroken and depressed as SpongeBob is.

Krabs endangering children is generally kind of funny in a "omg, I can't believe he's this evil" kind of way, but the problem is, episodes like this also make it hard to sympathize with him later when they try to show him in a better light. To be fair, Spongebob isn't exactly a show for continuity - there's a general idea of what the characters are supposed to be like, but the show has always still had a self-contained style to its episodes.

One thing that I actually liked the best in "Accidents Will Happen" is the subplot where Spongebob and Patrick are "trying" to solve the mystery of how Squidward got injured in the first place. I just couldn't stop laughing at Spongebob repeatedly thwacking Patrick with the shelf and Patrick's plops on his face on the floor.

My favorite season 1 episode is Pickles. It introduces us to a greedy, manipulative, closed-minded fish Daren who basically tried to shut down the Krusty Krab by fooling the customers, Krabs, and even Spongebob into thinking that Spongebob had lost his mojo when Bubble Bass walked through the front door. I also like that Krabs didn’t blame Spongebob and told him to take the day off, which of course ended in disaster. We all know that Squidward’s a terrible cook and Krabs tries to get Spongebob back, even though Spongebob had almost lost his mind from the pickle incident. But in the end, Spongebob came back and Bubble Bass was defeated. Temporarily, but still. Well, I gotta go. Bye!

Pickles was krabs being caring. Yes, he lost money and did get upset at the start, but he sent spongebob home trying to help then sat with him for like 4 days. When he had some character New krabs would have charged spongebob for the patties and the day off

I new it was a matter of time until this video would come out. Mr.Krabs, despite being my least favorite character, has his great moments. Yeah,the writers exaggerated his own money obsession by every season until he became a completely unlikable and obnoxious cheapskate by the time of Season 6 who mistreats his employees,is a lousy father to Pearl,willing to go to great lengths to earn cash, and caring more about his own greed than everyone’s feelings.(He was absolutely despicable towards Plankton in One Coarse Meal,which he tortured him and drove him to suicide with his fear of whales). At least his obnoxious,greedy behavior was toned down after Sponge Out of Water,but he still remains a cheapskate and horrible boss whose greed causes so much problems to everyone and everything,including his own employees and daughter,through on occasions.

I think one of the most underrated episodes showing the great quality of Mr Krabs is Krabby O Mondays where he sells the Krusty Krab and retires. On one hand he receives a lot of money and is overjoyed, but soon after a whole day of boredom he realizes that the Krusty Krab is his life purpose and even goes back to work. What's also great about it is how he stands up for Spongebob and Squidward and the horrible things happening at the remodeled Krusty Krab, even spending all his money just to buy it back

I agree about the Spineless SpongeBob trait. It’s one of the most obvious and almost sad traits that SpongeBob has seemed to pick up throughout the series. Probably one of my favourite moments of the show was in ‘Can You Spare a Dime’ where he ripped into Mr Krabs about firing Squidward over a dime. It shows that as much as SpongeBob respects Mr Krabs, he can also lose his mind at him sometimes. But now he just seems as Mr Krabs’ slave rather than his employee. And ‘Mutiny on the Krusty Krab’ depicts my point perfectly. I would love another episode where he desecrates Mr Krabs again out of sheer annoyance and irritation.
@n19ntendods3 жыл бұрын
Agreed! Even though Can You Spare A Dime? may be a mixed bag for some people, the best thing about it is how Squidward and SpongeBob snap at Mr Krabs and give him abuse instead. However, I feel like the ending could have been better and less infuriating. Like SpongeBob could’ve completely exploded and grabbed Squidward by the nose and Mr Krabs by the eyestalks and forced them apologise, and then once they do, revert back to his happiness and walks back to the kitchen, smiling, leaving Krabs and Squiddy in shock. 😂😂😂 Sorry if it sound a bit graphic and gory, but Krabs just once again accusing Squidward for putting the dime in his pants was just a frustrating note to end on.

"Krabby Land" was always my least favorite pre-movie SpongeBob episode (not "I'm With Stupid") because I felt so bad for SpongeBob. His torment is way worse in that episode. SpongeBob did nothing wrong in the episode but try to enjoy the season and have fun with kids, but they want to see him tormented. It's messed up, and seeing his boss allowing the abuse to happen to the poor guy was awful. Especially since SpongeBob...is a child at heart. When I was a kid and watched that episode, it disturbed me. I wasn't one of those kids that liked seeing others in pain either--I only found pain funny if someone deserved it (Like when Mr. Krabs got stung by all the jellyfish he mistreated), something more like that. A karma trip was fine, but whenever I'd see an innocent person get hurt, even in a cartoon, it'd bother me, and I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one. Poor SpongeBob. And yes, the kids do beat up Mr. Krabs at the end, but nothing is done about SpongeBob's abuse, really. Mr. Krabs was in the wrong, and those kids were sociopathic.
