I did a history project where I had to talk to my grandparents and learn their backstory. My grandfather lived in the Cleaborn projects in Memphis. He told me how day one, he got jumped, beat, and whipped into the gang they had there. He was ten. His grandfather was a pimp and my grandfather would watch his grandfather do business all the time. It’s funny to think that my grandfather got with my grandma who is the complete opposite of him. She grew up rich and black and I don’t know how. I know her aunt was full on french and looked white but was actually black. Apparently, when my Grandfather saw her, he asked my grandma “who is that white lady in your house?”. Mt grandma was one of the first families to get a car. It just fascinates me how deep out history goes but also how violent it can be.

The 90s were crazy times ! This was before all the gentrification and housing projects were torn down. The 90s were Fun but dangerous as well. Very dangerous!

Techwood homes in Atlanta ga were the very first housing projects in the US. Built in 1935 And once labeled the drug capital back in the 80s & early 90s. it has long been torn down. Back in the mid 90s.

I used to live a few blocks from the magnolia. New Orleans is no joke. I remember being at a bus stop and two girls got into it, pulled out guns and started shooting. So many people took off.

Robert Taylor Homes. It brings back so many memories. Both good & bad. It still home though Edit: Its really sad that my city got 2 spots on the top 5 worst projects. Chicago gotta do better 😂😂
