I have now been riding MTB for 5 years which is so crazy. I have definitely come a long way since the first time I rode a bike. Sometimes it isn't until you look back at old clips that you realise after time and practice on the bike that you get better and better. This year is about taking my riding to the next level. I have some big goals for my riding so hopefully I will be able to push it even more and be better than ever!!
In this video we take a look back at clips of me riding from day one until now and I let you in on what my riding goals for 2024 are. Hopefully I can look back at this video at the end of the year and be able to say I have achieved everything I wanted to!
I hope you enjoyed this video!
Kara :)
Welcome to my channel! I am beginner Mountain Bike rider documenting my progression, struggles and sucesses on my channel! I hope that whether you are a beginner rider yourself or an advanced or even pro rider you can take something from my channel and enjoy the journey with me!

I'm a 50-something mountain/e-biker. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching Tom and people of his skill levels performing miracles on two wheels, however, those levels are unattainable for me. I thoroughly enjoy your content, your progression and what you are aiming to achieve with your riding. It's reassuring that it's not just me who decides against a drop off or a jump until I'm comfortable. I enjoyed your e-enduro stages, inspired me and a few friends to complete our own such rides within our small group, or even devise my own solo stages. Long may you continue doing what you're doing, what you achieve certainly inspires this aging mortal to get on his bike and ride.

Your body achieves what your mind beleves, I'm a 49 year old mountain biker, im trying to hit bigger jumps every time i ride. I've foud Phoenix Bikepark to be an amazing place for progression, Use mountain biking to keep you young, dont use your age to keep you old.

@@leehorspool9744 In my head I'm still 20, although I don't bounce like I did when I was 20. Just complimenting Kara on showing more attainable goals for the more average MTBer. Checked out Phoenix bike park online, superb recommendation, thank you.

I'm 56 now and still love my eMTB. I broke my collarbone and bruised my ribs last August on a jump I'd ridden many times before. Ive been back to the scene of the crime twice now. I can barely get both wheels off but I'm going to conquer the fear. The easy option is to give up and walk away but thats a slippery slope to doing nothing. Yes I'm getting on and I certainly don't bounce so well but like you I enjoy Karas videos !!

Join the club mate i used to ride bmxes with mates jumps and tracks stop riding for ages. Now im 49 im looking at bigger things jumps etc. The flip gets me like a no thanks.maybe a 360 they dont look to hard if you get the spin right.ive got videos of guys when i was at a park doing these and it was cool as.looks so easy. Some of these jumps are massive i just need to hit them as i have done at some places but certain ones catch me off guard i will hit them soon.💪👌✌️🤙😎

Your progression is incredible Kara! I've been watching you since I started mountain biking about 4 years ago and you've progressed way faster than I have. Good luck on your flip! Will be looking forward to seeing that video.

It’s been very cool to witness your amazing progression. I have four features that I want to conquer this year. At 55, the wrecks take a lot longer to recover from. Broke two bones (not including who knows how many ribs) this past year, but I have no regrets. I just need to ride a little bit smarter and practice more. 👍👍

How about getting faster in berms? That would be a good one to work on. It would benefit your riding overall.

I can't believe I just heard your goal is to flip, you are still a passenger on your bike. How about a bike control goal? Bar turns, whips, and maybe make the goal a barspin?

I have been wathcing from the beginning and your progression has been great to see. If you are going to flip, I would suggest getting really comfortable with back summies on a trampoline first, that will get you spatially aware without worrying about whats happening with your bike. Good luck for your years goals, I along with 32.7K other will be watching.

Love the videos and the progression journey! Can relate with the progression as I'm trying to progress on the Snowboard. I'm and Aussie living in Whistler Canada and would be sick if u and Tom traveled to Whistler for bike park season. Also Australia has some sweet riding spots. Keep the content going 🤙

Hey Kara, sounds like you have some pretty big goals for the year, somthing that you may want to consider with learning to flip , I'd suggest if you have a spot that suits, leaning to flip into water before foam (obviously with a PFD and helmet) , while foam is much softer that mulch or dirt , there is a lot of momentum involved and landing upside down is a lot of energy for your noggin to stop. Either way , all the best for 2024 and hope you hit all your goals !

Flip to foam seems like a good goal. Off camera riding I still think you could attempt the bottom half of the mega avalanche route. For something different try one of the cross country rides, like the 99 route in Switzerland or the Austrian Danube route, just to broaden your channels appeal.
