In regards to dustry rowa phos, I put mine in a cup and rinse it off a few times with ro until the water in the cup is clear, then i add the rowa phos into my reactor, does the trick every time.

No! I like the monti. People don't let corals go wild, I feel like people just fill their tanks with high end frags and frag them again before they reach any sort of size. I would probably do the same if I had money but few large colonies look so much more impressive.

For the copperband, I would hang a clam on a magnet, just a little open so he can eat it with his long beak but not the others.

Very cool tank I'm just about to start a marine tank , looking at a 25 gallon all in one which I will eventually upgrade from if I managed to master the beginner part of the hobbie. It will be my second time getting into last time I just had researched enough and was completely out of my depth but this time I making sure I have a grasp on everthing. Love your videos its cool to see another British person in the hobbies always see Americans, and it's hard to compare.

Oh man I've missed your updates so much, glad to see everything is going good. I've largely stopped watching a bunch of reefers simply because they transitioned into podcasts and then 2+ hour long ones which is just not for me. That said, you'll always have a coral that overgrows everything if given enough time. The sunset monti looks fantastic if you ask me, but if you want to kill it simply put kalk paste on it or superglue, it is a shame though to get rid of something so colorful and vibrant, but seems to be the reefer way if corals grow to easily/fast you don't like them any more, I got the same way with an blue tort many MANY years ago, little pieces broke off and I kept regluing them elsewhere, and before I knew it I had like 8 massive colonies of it in the tank.

I'm a new reefer myself, just less than a year. My tank is coming along but could use some work. I've got a huge anemone that takes up so much space that I wish I had for corals. Hoping to get a bigger tank in about a year which will help with that problem.

If upgrading into a 150 or 200g is in the finances , I say do it brother! Corals and fish will appreciate you like we would when watching your upgrade video LOL On another note. The comments about the Copper band looking skinny and you having possibly parasites. We all know you don’t quarantine which is fine. Maybe during the upgrade you take advantage of capturing them all and running full QT to help longevity of the fish

Could you not plant acropora frags on top of the encrusted montiporas? They would then kill it off around them as they grow and give you more space for acropora? Acros usually win against montiporas.

When I first started, I was given some “ugly brown palys“ being a beginner, I didn’t know anything but I thought cool it’s free. Why not put them in my tank. Three years later, they are all over the place and I wished I could get rid of them. Also brown star polyps are a pain in the butt. These are things that I didn’t know as a beginner would overrun things so I am constantly having to use a brush to try to brush them off the rockwork. If anyone has any suggestions how to get rid of them, I would be greatly appreciative.

hi, great video, i was wondering if i could have your help with something, i am looking at buying a red sea reefer 350 G2+ but everyone keeps warning me about seam breaking e.g so i was wondering what you think because you have one and also if there is a different tank you recommend over it if the seam breaking is likely? thank you

Red Sea have sold more tanks than anyone else so they're bound to have more failures than anyone else. But I'd be surprised if their failure rate is any higher than anyone else - I'd buy another Red Sea tank without hesitation 🙂

re. that copperband. I feed mine only once a day and hes fat as can get. If youre feeding him 3 x a day and he still looks that cachectic, i might consider internal parasites.
