I always wonder about that. Parents that rip their kids apart from their ex out of spite somehow always believe that its worth the price for the momentary satisfaction that they get. But they ever account for the price they will pay with their child once they realize what was taken away from them. How do you say to your kid, "I'm sorry I took your father away from you out of spite - so now you have life-long issues ...oopsy!" Not very convincing and impossible to forgive or excuse.

I pity him, he suffers too much as well. Not being able to stay with the loved one it's really painful, hurts even more knowing that it will never be really happy cause even you family hates you. At this film they're all selfish, they're all hurt, they're all have their own battles and any of them can understand the other e forgive themselves and in the end the little child suffers too. It's so sad still happens so many situations like that in real life, judging it's really easy when it's not on you.

It also means if he just came to accept himself so late, there will be much more unsolved baggage on top of this. You can say it was because of societal pressure, but if he is so susceptible to it, who is to tell he won't do it again? Ex-boyfriend and ex-wife both shouldn't have to deal with him anymore. This is why Pride month and Pride parades are still needed. Yes, it's being proud of who we are - out own truths. But it's also a form of activism - us saying we are here and we aren't going away. Religion and society pushes young LGBTQIA++ individuals into marriages that either end in this type of scenario or a life of continued lies. It's so sad. And so many progressive countries have movements within trying to push us back into the closet and to invalidate our relationships, again. I feel for all four characters in this story. No one wins. Even when the two men are back together the ex-wife will always be connected to them because of the child, and the child has to live with a split custody arrangement - and likely have to deal with people who won't understand her family situation.

He didn't give any shit about her then he would've left her in school, he wouldn't bring her somewhere she feels welcomed, he wouldn't ask for help to take care of her, he wouldn't worry about where she was or how she got home, he wouldnt have taken the time to spend time with her. @@VKK45428 the kid wasn't even in danger, he was looking to settled things while the bad thing was happening, the girl was too young so that she suffered academically while they fixed things...what he did to her mom can not be justified BUT the mother did that out of despite, bad blood and selfishness too...she wasn't even used to take care of the child and he like any other mother would do the same, if they have devouted so much to their kids all those years, he deserve the right to their own kid too... if the roles were reverse would be a easy call

Both are doing "bribery" to the kid but the kid needs to go to school and i agree with the mom that she is getting spoiled by him. Buying a piano isn't doing the child any harm but skipping school is. He did something stupid so she came early to pick her up and didn't abide by her promise but I never heard her say he can never see her again over this. I think her actions in this scene were justified. As for not being a good wife - they are separated? and he has lied and got her pregnant and slept around with many men.

The girl may be spoiled by him but we still have to expose the lack of responsibility she had on parenting too and needed to happen on her side just as he needed to respect the mothers way and get into an agreement with her on what is important... the way i see it, BOTH parents, HIM AND HER, needed to learn how to be better CO-PARENTS... now be a better wife? i never said she was bad or she was the reason they divorce, he is GAY nothing would have made her better...We are talking about the kid in this...i think the husband-wife relationship is different and he did some mistakes and do wrong BUT shouldn't be taken on account for you to decide whether he is deserving to be a dad or not for the kid... he didn't abuse her or was assaulting her or the kid or did something that attacked the family in a way that is criminal and abusive... cause these are 2 different things... him been fit for a parent place is right, he deserve the SAME CHANCE to fight for her daughter and have the custody..using this cheating situation and the gay situation as a way to weaponize against the other parent especially if is used in a way to HURT your ex when Clearly he seems to want to be in his child's life and loved her is WRONG TOO
