Lack of story bro. 90% of the game is "Deek can you go here? Deek can you go there? Deek can you find him? Deek can you hunt them down?" It's just 1 big fetch quest until he finds out his wife is alive, and then it's all about finding her, but before that? Zero story.
@TB-wvvvw8 ай бұрын
@@KoolKeithProductions To me it seems like there's plenty of story. There's his friend Boozer and everything that happens with him including trying to help with his injury. There's the ongoing story about Lisa who was all alone with a lot of troubles where only Deek could help. There are the parts of the story about Iron Mike and his camp trying to work out how to coexist with the rippers, and the jerk Skizzo and missions connected to him. There are the other characters you meet at the camps and the things you do because of them or for them or sometimes with them. You of course have the ongoing story of hordes and how to deal with them, something that adds a lot of fun to this game. There is the ongoing story of Nero and its checkpoints and Deek's missions about them and the mysterious person who Deek hopes will help him find his wife. There are several kinds of things you do to help the different camp leaders and they all make sense given the person Deek is and what he can do, which aren't just "fetch quests" but different things like learning to hunt the wildlife, catching someone trying to get away on a motorcycle and having to disable and detain them and going with someone to try using napalm molitovs for the first time against a horde. I thought Deek was a very well fleshed out character and his story was full of details that made for a lot of fun and varied game play.
@KoolKeithProductions8 ай бұрын
@@TB-wvvvw compare that to a game like Red Dead 2 which has similar stories that you find out in the world. Where you can help ppl, aquire new skills and weapons upgrades. All that is fine, but you know what else it has? An OVERARCHING story. From min 1 the story is about this gang and how they fell apart over time. You cannot tell me what the story of Days Gone is from min 1, cuz the only story was "survive". That's it. He thinks his wife is dead for half of it, then tried to find her for 40% of it, and then tried to free her once he's found her for 10% of it. That's rad. I don't know which version it was but one of the fans on the subreddit tried probably 1.11 and except some funny glitches with enemies dead bodies turning into tents, to his surprise it wasn't that bad as he had thought. We still all experience funny glitches and it often has to do with the PlayStation-console not being restarted in a while. And since the ones giving Days Gone a bad score because of lots of bugs probably had their consoles going 24/7 for days without any restart but just using sleep mode leading to memory leaks. I think that could be one reason we are looking at to how they experience it as buggy.

I platinumed this gem back in the day on my ps4 slim, after all these years I hopped on back on my ps5 and my lord the game shines like never. Usually I can’t really play open world games any more since, you know, they feel empty for me, I kind lose the vibe. But this one definitely scratches the itch, probably will platinum it again. If anybody could recommend something similar I’d appreciate it

I played it about a year after release. It was fixed and extremely fun then. Anyone that bought into to journalists hate on this game is doing themselves a great disservice. PLAY THIS GAME! it’s great.

This game was fixed when I played it 3 to 6 months after launch. It’s so underrated it’s crazy. The people who shit on this game are the same people who rate the bloated FF7 rebirth a 10.

Love Days Gone , but I'm not sure how a sequel would turn out without Jeff Ross being involved.

I’m a launch player of this game and quite frankly the game was never broken in the beginning

Days Gone was one of the first games I picked back up after 2 years of not playing. I saw it on Steam, grabbed it on a whim, and I really loved it.

Ive never been more angry about a game not getting a sequel than days gone. Ive completed the story several times and enjoyed it more it each time... Great game

I’ve played though this game multiple times, I’ve always loved the story and characters. It’s pretty well patched, it was really buggy when it came out buy usually in a funny way where you would go flying 500ft in the air for no reason. Also missions wouldn’t complete and you would have to restart. But last few playthoughs it’s been fine. Really wish there will be a sequel

Such an under rated game. This game should have sold way more copies than it did. Awesome game!

Anyone who hasn't played this and just wants a game that is insanely fun, please get it so we can get a sequel.

I loved this game when it first came out. It does take forever for the story and game to get going which I believed is what hurt it. It was one of those games that I dipped in for time to time until after 10 hours it seemed tlhe story and the game got really good and it finally got it's hooks in me but it did take a while to get to the good stuff

Days Gone needs a sequel. One of the best open world survival games I’ve ever played. So good and so underrated.

I think what hurt the game the most with critics is that there was no attempt at artistry on the level of the last of us. So it suffered from the comparison But if you don’t feel like every single zombie related game has to be the last of us, it’s a pretty good game It also conform to my philosophy of “never pay more than $20 for a game.“ there are three things that happen when you wait until the game cost only $20. First, you’re in a better frame of mind. You’re not thinking “I paid 70 bucks for this?” Second, it usually means that the game has been patched significantly by then Finally, it saves your money. Duh I almost never break that rule and I find I enjoy a lot of games a lot more than other people did.

I bought this game a few months after the launch on sale. I was very hyped for it, being a big fan of Bend Studio's work. However, immediately after starting the game for the first time, the graphic assets wouldn't fully load and Deacon would fall through the ground and the game would get stuck in a forever-falling loop. No big deal, I'll just restart the game. And it happened again. Third time's a charm? Nope. So, I didn't play the game until several months later. There were still some issues with the game but I was finally able to play it and it became one of my favorite games. But because of the poor state of launch, I wasn't happy with John Garvin's comment saying, "If you love a game, buy it at f****** full price." To that, I say... how about you finish the game and put it in a playable state BEFORE it launches, and then maybe it would be worth full price.

I remember the first time playing days gone, everything just feel enjoyable. The side missions never felt like a chore unlike many other games out there. A sequel is a must. Sony don't be stupid.
