That 200 Peso is amazing!! I just picked up my second 50 Peso and was interested in picking up the 200 peso the price today is $5,250.00also, and it was not graded. A little too much for one coin today.

I recently got the 200 Peso proof. I sent it off to get graded. Hopefully it will come back soon. I may do an update video when that happens.

Really nice coins! Wasn’t the 1943 50 pesos the lowest mintage year of 89,000 thus potentially giving it a higher value?

Thank you, yes, the 1943 does have the lowest mintage of the series. Everything being equal it would have a higher value than another year coin. There are some exceptions, like the value on the first year (1921) coin can also be quite high.

Highest price for 50 pesos centenarios would be: 1st 1921 2nd 1931/0. (super rare some of these coins go for a lot more than 1921) 3rd 1931 4th 1943

If you didn't know they also made the 1 kg proof version of the 200 pesos. You did excellent. I'm also looking for the proof version of the 2010 200 pesos. The 1921 ungraded is worth around $4000. And the 2010 ms 69 is worth around $6000 now in January 2024. If you already graded your 1921 is worth between $5000 for ms 61 or 62 and over $7500 if it is ms 64 and up. I would keep all 1921 and 1931 50 pesos and also the 200 pesos for many more years in your collection. They are the best gold coins in the world.

Great coins. Found it strange that the centenario is marked 1921 but the bicentenario is 2010. They count 1810 as their declaration not 1821 whe. The fight was over

There’s a reason for that. 1821 was the end of the Mexican independence war and the start was 1810. It so the bicentennial coin commemorates the beginning the first one the actual century of independence.

In fact, that may be your best bet to get one for the best price...you just have to have patience and be ready when one gets listed. Mine is graded/verified with PCGS of which there are only 15 and none graded higher than mine (MS69).

The coin contains 1.2057oz of pure gold. Gold is worth $1,860 as I write this. That means the coin is worth $2,242 just for scrap gold. Add on to that the limited nature of the coin and its grade (numismatic value) and that makes it worth significantly more. The same can be said for most gold/silver coins. Borth those minted for circulation in the past (like the 50 peso coins) and those newly minted for collection and investment (like the 200 peso coin) For example a newly minted 2021 Silver Eagle has a face value of $1 but it contains 1 oz of pure silver and is therefore worth at least what 1 oz of silver is worth ($25.61 today).

That would be a 50 peso minted in 1921 (which is the first year). If you can get a good price, you should buy it.

Nothing more boring than a coin that's slabbed... How boring. Grading coins does not add value to be honest and is largely viewed as a money grab.

You're welcome to your opinion. However, grading and slabbing old gold coins certainly does add value to buyers. They are assured that the coin is real and an expert judgement on its condition. That may not matter to you specifically, but a PCGS/NGC graded 50 Peso coin goes for A LOT more than the same coin raw. It's just a fact. You can look at sales records or go to any coin show and see that. People don't pay for what they don't believe has a value. Now, where I will somewhat agree with you is that grading doesn't really make a lot of sense or add much value is with modern coins.

It's real. It has be verified by PCGS, the premier grading company. It also has the known planchet flaw in that mintage.
