The locking mechanism actually just pop out after you release the locking tap in the small square hole and pry it out and super nest feature for sure.

You shouldn't need to apply a lot of force when picking handcuffs. It's more a positioning thing. Cool thing with asp, you have 2 keyholes so if it does break off, you can operate the cuff with the other keyhole. And then remove the mechanism to repair it.
