To clear your confusion, their connection is displayed clearly at the beginning of the video as the "shady/aftermath" production. Shady is slim shady/Eminems company, Aftermath is Dr. Dre's company. They had many collaborations between them, The Game & others.

Eminem was a fan of his underground music . 50 is still completely loyal to Eminem and Dre . But Eminem especially, for believing in him during a time 50 was down and out , he had just been shot 9 times and was still recovering , while his original label dropped him , while other major labels were scared to sign him , even though they knew the talent was there . Also ja rule and murder inc were using their industry connections to stop 50 from a major release . Em signed him to a million dollar deal cus he was a fan of 50s “guess who’s back” album . Which was pretty much a glorified mixtape. Also 50s group g unit , was huge in the streets with their mixtapes . 50 was actually the person who pioneered the mixtape game as a promotional tool . Every major rapper started doing it after they saw him blow up in the streets off those mixtapes . G unit would take their favorite beats and songs from all kinds of different artists of that time. Make a better version of that song . Then give the cd’s/tapes to the well known DJs to play and for bootleggers to sell for a few dollars in the street .

This is one of the most recognized bass lines (that opening) in all of rap. His flow is very representative of the end of rap's glory years. This song launched his career... but yes he was one of the 1st artists released on Eminem label. 2003

@@themack74 this commentary is not about individual rappers it is about the industry and the rap genre as a whole. There was a distinct regional diversity. There existed a hip hop culture that transcended these regional styles. The hip hop culture has devolved into another type of pop. Are there a few hip hop artists today.... possibly. But the culture has been denigrated and overall is not even a shell of its former self. I stand 100% by my initial comment.

His flow DID reflect the sound that was predominant in the late 90's early 2000s. Yes he was on of the first artists signed on Shady Aftermath. Every single music critic calls the 90s the Golden Age of rap. I'm searching for the 'not true' aspect of my original comment.

i listened to this song in 2001 when i was kid, now i am 30. 50 cent is my best rapper. Matter of fact, he and em are broos, em helped 50 to meet dre and jim lovine the owner of interscope record.
