It's good that 50 is acknowledging and recognizing battle rap. A lot of mainstream rap artists walk around like they're too good for that shit, when back then before you got a deal, you had to prove you could battle rap and you had to do it well. @@Midwest_Jimmy Clips is wayyyy too basic. Hes the John Cena of battle rap. He's great at getting the crowd and it makes it look like hes killing it. But when you really break it down, all he has is 4-bar schemes that end in predictable punches. He has nothing unique, he can't do creative rhyme schemes/patterns, his angles are all basic shit, and if you've seen 1 battle youve seen everything he has to offer. That last one goes for DNA too. Clips v Lux is the perfect example. The way Clips worked the crowd made it seem like he was killing it, but every time you watch that battle, you will move more towards Lux bodying him whereas the first time you might think Charlie won. So he makes shit that sounds hot once, whereas a great battle is one that is timeless and gets better the more you see it. In my opinion. Clips is not ass tho. Hes really good. I just can't put him in my top 5 for those reasons. Hes like the anti Dizaster. Diz has everything Clips lacks, but those things Clips has and Diz doesn't are the things that keep Diz out of the top 5 too. DNA is great too, but not top 5 imo
