As a fish owner, I'll tell you the many things that are wrong. 1. I wouldn't wish a 1.5 gallon living space on my worst enemy. 2. You didn't clean the gravel or plastic plants. 3. You immediately put him in there. You're supposed to wait 1-2 months for a tank to cycle. 4. You probably put straight tap water in there, which is bad because it contains chlorine. You need to use water conditioner.

Cycle what? Lmao. He bought a cheap bowl, threw some gravel in it, and some tap water. There's nothing to bother cycling. Theres nothing to filter, no ammonia to break down, no benificial bacteria, no plants to break down nitrates. This is like saying there's a problem with the electrical wiring in a house when the entire house is built onto quicksand. Like yeah, your right but the house is going to collapse before the wiring ever becomes a problem.

Im sure this has been commented already, but i need to info dump just in case. Thats not a freshater puffer, that is a Leopard Puffer/Green Spotted Puffer and they live in brackish water. I kept 2 for 10 years. Brackish water is found where oceans meet fresh water and mix. Heres some advice if you want your new best friend to live a happy life. 1. You need to balance marine salt and use a brackish water suppliment to get the right enviornment for those guys. They also need more salt in the water as they get older. 2. They grow fast and hit about six inches in size. Minimum tank requirement is 60 gallons fully grown for one of them. So a tank upgrade is in order. 3.They do best with sand instead of gravel since they will eat the gravel. 4. Puffer fish have teeth that grow like a gerbal or guinie pig. You need to feet them snails, shrimp, crawfish, crabs or other crunchy foods for them to keep that tooth in check or they literally can need dental work. 5. They are very aggressive which only gets worse with age. They will eat anything you put in the tank with them eventually. 6. They have whats called a slime coat instead of scales. So they're very sensative to changes in water quality. These guys are a lot of work. But are worth it. Best fish i ever had and would get more in a heartbeat. I wish you well with your new buddy.

Fish are actually really cool pets if you know how to take care of the properly. There is actually something called the Betta fish Olympics where Betta fish and their owners compete in competitions. Look it up and you will see that fish are not “just fish”. 🙄

I've seen the follow-up videos to this. Joe did a good job by realizing that he made a mistake and tried to correct. I would recommend people take a look at his improvements, even though it did end in a tragedy. I'm proud of him for owning up to his mistakes, rather than trying to cover it up. If you watch his other videos, you will see that he actually tried to take your advice to care for his pet. Good job Joe, just try to do some research and don't be afraid to contact a keeper or breeder for advice. We actually want to help new hobbyists.

Ok, first of all a puffer fish needs at least 10 gallons and as it grows it will need a larger tank. Secondly, YOU MUST RINSE OF THE GRAVEL AND PLANTS! Next you need to get water drops to get the chlorine out of the water, if you don't it may die. You also need a heater so the fish wont die. Hope this helps :)

Here's a fish tip make sure u get the right fish food clean the tank regularly and get some fresh water shrimp (or snails)to help clean the tank and get shrimp food, get some fish tank cleaning supplies, get treats, and get some real plants to help the fish breathe. And fresh water snails multiple like crazy but risk it. (shrimp and snails are optional) . And that's how u keep a fish healthy.
