I originally wasn’t really looking forward to TBC Classic. But after revisiting it, I think it’s my favorite expansion. It was incredibly well made and still felt like Vanilla in some ways.

@@Killerblutak That's actually literally what it was. I feel vindicated. When TBC was on its way out I was one of its few defenders. WillE himself was on the "nobody will want TBC fresh" train. Everyone else was saying "Thank god that's over now we get to play the REAL version of the game." Oh how the turntables.

@@booradley6832 I had been begging for classic for a decade, specifically so that I could eventually replay tbc. I loved tbc as my favorite time in wow history, and it did not disappoint when classic tbc came out. I was truly heartbroken when there was no tbc server. I came to the same conclusion about being disappointed with wrath as well. I loved wrath too back in the day but, it's just retail lite. TBC while yes, the world was much more condensed, the gameplay itself felt like classic with some sprinkles added on. I am still waiting for them to announce TBC servers to this day.

It certainly doesn't have the charm of vanilla. Flying mounts basically stop any world PvP, open world content is only good for questing (tho the quests are not bad), Azeroth is literally pointless to stay at aside from capital cities, etc. It's just mainly the gameplay that is more or less the same with more balance.

TBC was the only expansion that felt like it expanded on what Vanilla was while introducing a few quality-of-life improvements and newer ways to achieve character progression outside of raiding through the Badges of Justice system. It was a splendid time in the near 2-year lifespan of that expansion.

I loved seal-twisting as ret pal in TBC classic, tho never got serious about it (i'm a retail andy mostly). It felt very cool to be that in-tune with your weapon swing timer as a paladin, no other time has it mattered so much! TBC classic 2 hype ! TBC classic 2 hype ! xD

Unless you specifically mean for paladins, Warriors had heroic strike cancelling in vanilla, which is very similar timing wise.

@@Oolong_Bagged Yes, i was thinking about paladins when i wrote the comment, but in general I think it's cool when melee classes have a big reason to care and pay attention to when their weapon is actually hitting the target. A lot of that feeling has been lost on retail wow for melee classes, which is why I think seal twisting and similar stuff is cool.

My main issues with TBC was: PVE - group-buffs, and such an impact if you don't have enhance in your melee/hunt group for example. PVP - Arena teams/no crossrealm, no ability to queue up easily with new people for a few games etc.

The TBC attunements were a great system. However, the fact it had to be character specific due to both engine limitations and design goals is why I feel most people don't like it. If it had been an account-wide one time journey, I think it would've been loved.

This was only a problem in classic. Since in the original tbc, most people only played 1 toon seriously. Same as in vanilla back then, most peoples alts were purely for farming like herbs or something.

Trouble is, back then, you'd rarely see people with max level alts.. Everything took so long to do that people really focused on the one char. Reps, professions, gold, attunements.. It was insane looking back at it now. We're spoilt now

Warmane on the 335a (WOTLK CLIENT) Actually has a vanilla realm right now that’s progressing into TBC and then eventually wrath. It’s been out for a year and a half on vanilla so far and they’re launching the TBC pre patch tomorrow if anyone’s interested

@@professionalhater3929 This, plus it's a PVP server to boot. I have a couple characters on that server at max and every time I run an instance it makes me want to go back to TWOW. People generally leave after 1 wipe, and they start blaming one another and fights break out over it. It's wild. I'm going to try out the TBC release on the 20th but if Blizz announces a TBC Era I won't even bother.

I loved the Scryer / Aldor choice. It reminded me of the three way faction war of EverQuest's Velious expansion, where you could ally yourself with either the frost/storm giants, the Coldain dwarves, and the dragons of Skyshrine.

Its still hands down the best game i have ever played. It hooked me up so much that when i had to leave for my term abroad i considered moving my entire rig (TFT!) from Germany to Sweden in order to kill M'uru. In the end, i didnt, so i left this game unfinished unfortunately. I killed M'uru (pre nerf! :)) 13 years later in Classic, so i had this one done eventually, but it nagged me constantly over a decade. Also, my raiding team was just a bunch of all around good guys. Good times in og tbc. I was undergeared. My brother speed leveled a draeni priest and I ran a dwarf warrior. Once we wrapp3d up hellfire peninsula I felt properly equipped for later zones. (Squeeze in many runs through hellfire ramparts with the guild)

Everyone using mana loved Spriest in TBC. Not just healers and arcane mages. All classes that use mana still have to manage their mana consumption in TBC, including the spriest. So everyone loved Vampiric Touch in the raid. Literally essential mana conservation. Also side mention for Draenei Spriests, as they require less hit rating and their priest racial in TBC is a mana regen anthem

LFG worked pretty well on server I played on. I liked it a lot. It was better than spamming chat in major cities and it retained some social aspects as you still had to talk to people.

TBC Paladin is probably the best paladin that ever existed in every WoW version, i could say that i feel the same for the most classes in TBC. Power creep was just enough, to make them felt better and polished and in same time not overpowered like they become in Wotlk, which was just an overkill...Imho.

Most casters were still on a one button rotation though. I played boomie in tbc classic and enjoyed the content but pressing starfire for 4 hours does get old. In my opinion cata and mop had the best versions of most classes in terms of rotations. Even boomie is so much better now, wotlk was fun and better than tbc but fishing for rng procs just to get your dps going isn't too fun.

I had that bow back in the day. BM hunter with that bow back in tbc just deleted everyone. I was even first in line to get it in tbcc. Funny the only reason I was first for it both times was because I was the only hunter in my guild who did all their attuns. Everyone els would say they wanted to raid only to show up and say they can't get in.

It was more of a wotlk hype and less of getting sick of tbc. People usually get bored of an expansion if the last phase lasts too long and tbc's wasn't that bad. ICC however lasted more than half a year even in the re-release and all bosses, even 25H LK, got too easy with the 30% buff and bis gear to retain people's excitement. I wouldn't mind a fresh tbc server, but already playing cata means I wouldn't have time to grind a character up to 70 and do all the attunements to start raiding. Tbc raids were the most fun in classic so far but just the thought of having to grind attunements makes me shudder

Honestly since Turtle WoW announcement and how blizz themself act towards classic WoW: i dont even want them doing classic anymore.. others have way better patches/servers/ideas nowadays. You cannot trust Blizzard with anythin anymore so im not trusting them with TBC. Im currently playing through Wc3 once again and i felt it.. the magic that is missing with blizz, i can taste that magic with Turtle WoW - people that want to create a awesome experience instead of milking their viewers.

12:50 So with the epic gems from heroics you actually could stack more than one. I had about 7 of the hit/sp epic gems from Mech Heroic on my warlock. You could put the gem in a BOE item then mail that item to a bank alt and run the dungeon again and if lucky get another of the same gem. Mail the BOE back to your main and put another epic gem in it and mail it back to the bank alt and rinse and repeat. IT WASSS INSANELY SWEATY like you said. I was the only warlock in the world to do this according to all the logs I could find and the warlock discord. I knew of 1 ele shaman who also did it. So I got every boe item that was bis (which is a lot on a destro lock with spellstrike etc) and I would gem them all first and then put 1 gem in a BOP item and then equip all the BOE items with full epic gems and it worked fine. I made sure to test it on PTR before doing it to make sure it worked so I didn't waste time and gold.

Tbc to this day was the best thing to ever happen to classic. Only builds on classic bringing non-viable specs into the raid scene. Rated arenas. Some of the most memorable raids on par with Nax. The only thing I ever hear anyone mention is BP leveling zone ruins the entire expansion for some people like it’s 2 hours and you’ll never go back there.
