I always wondered why so many older KZbin videos have so many dislikes compared to videos nowadays but then I remembered that when KZbin removed star ratings in favor of likes and dislikes in March of 2010, they converted any rating above 3 stars into a like and anything 3 or less into a dislike, so a lotta those dislikes probably are from people who gave the video a 3 rating cuz they thought the video was alright but not amazing lol

20:09 The 'Exploding Toads' video is probably not what you think and is completely harmless - the full video is called 'Parry Gripp: "Exploding Toads!"'. Do a KZbin search for 'Parry Gripp', he's the guy who made all those novelty childrens songs that you literally could not escape if you were on KZbin in the early 2010's. It's probably just a parody song by him that got lost to time.

The "Donkey Kong country horror series" sounds very similar to a classic flash animation from newgrounds called "Revenge of the Kongs". It has very explicit deaths, and Diddy indeed sees Dixie kong dying in front of his eyes. The animation is still available if you want to check it.

To add on to the "Bumble Tumble" segment, there's a plethora of other games from the Sky TV service that are missing, many of them were cheap-tie ins of various other franchises, mostly Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, as they had games from Ed Edd n Eddy, Spongebob, Codename Kids Next Door, Johnny Bravo etc, but also had games based off other popular UK shows, like Deal or No Deal, I'm a Celebrity and even Takeshi's Castle. They even had some spin off games from Tomb Raider as well. Many of them do have gameplay vids that survive and can be watched easily, and others just have very tiny singular pictures as proof of their existence, like the Takeshi's Castle game only has a single 200 x 160 image as it's sole surviving proof.

Dude who created Rolie Polie Olie/George Shrinks/Meet the Robinsons/Robots is William Joyce. Dude’s super nice, came to my summer camp once. He’s Canadian and is fairly popular over here, seen as a super influential artist. Rolie polie olie started off as just a simple dump full of paintings of a concept (his art style is obvious, Art Deco 1930’s retrofuturism) but then spawned into a children’s book, THEN a pilot, then a series. He’s a very nice and super respectable guy who loves his coffee. He also has a little picture he drew of himself hanging in the Tim Hortons Tatamagouche Nova Scotia summer camp.

I think I have some lost media myself. I have a distinct memory back when I was a small child around 2008-2010. It was getting this childrens' show compilation DVD in a paper case from either a newspaper or magazine. I remember there was a code system on the DVD that allowed to you watch the show you wanted by inputting a special code provided by the newspaper/magazine. I remember Pingu was one of the shows, maybe Bob the Builder and/or Fireman Sam was on there too. I tried finding it online and only found similar childrens' DVDs found in newspapers, but none with codes.

Just did a quick Google for "Kirin Ashita No Calendar" by it's Japanese name "キリンあしたのカレンダー". According to the Japanese Wikipedia, it was part of the "キリンものしりシリーズ" ("Kirin Facts Series") sponsored by the Kirin Beverage company. That's about all I could find, it doesn't look like it was ever released on home media or is available on streaming. A similar anime called "ものしり大学明日のカレンダー" ("Facts University Tomorrow's Calendar") from 1966 is though!

36:28 No way! I may actually be able to help a tiny bit with the Big Bible Town lost media- The gameplay footage, of the 3D characters walking around looks an AWFUL lot like Gospel Champions- a Bible game that I played a crazy amount of as a kid. I immediately recognize it cause of its janky style, super saturated yellow building and the little scorpion that attacks the player in the second clip😂 Although the main characters you play as were usually ether wearing pink and blue, or green and yellow- I do recall playing as a blond haired kid with a blue tunic at some point? I’m not 100% sure, but it doesn’t look unfamiliar to me I’m pretty sure these developers may have stolen that gameplay or at least were heavily related to Gospel Champions in some way Idk if this is actually helpful, but I figured I’d shoot my shot

I plan to fill the spreadsheet with more lost videos and I think I'll make a post about them on the LMW forum, since I feel like there could be some very interesting stuff that's been already forgotten to the time. also sry for commenting for the 5th time but YT keeps shаdоwbаnning my post for no reason

Hello ShaiiValley, This isn’t technically lost media but a years ago there was a mobile game for iPhone called Dragon Island Blue but since IOS 11 in 2017 it has not been playable anymore on phones with this operating system or higher but it remained surprisingly popular. 4 years ago I once again built up a community with several hundreds of people on discord and Reddit and even got the original developer on it. While we could not remake the game 1:1, a lot of assets from this game are free to use and a game like this is currently remade by members of the community and I think it has been a fascinating revival you don’t see often for such an obscure game that can’t even be played by most people anymore

There was this DS game I was obsessed with for a while called "Kokoro scan", a gimmicky game that mainly used the mic feature to test players emotions. It used to have comics and flash animations on its website but I have not found any way to recover them even with waybackmachine. I even had the soundtrack to the game uploaded to my old youtube account but even that has sadly been lost since my old channel was shut down. There was even a live event where actors played the roles of the characters, I believe in akihabara, but no footage of the show exists today. If you wanna know more for a future video lemme know

I remember this!! It was because people saw images of Marill and assumed it was an evolution of Pikachu, and called it Pikablu. I remember being confused in the game because Ash fought Pokemon too (which was due to the RPG Maker format). IIRC you could get Bulbasaur and like… Kadabra or something too, but they just appeared as Pokeballs following behind you. I remember grinding for hours to get Bulbasaur to level 16 and was confused when it didn’t evolve, haha. I don’t have it, sadly-that was like five computers ago. 4:24 The only thing I can think that comes close to what they might be talking about is clyde the frog. It was a 70s pbs show. Maybe somehow it was changed to "jumper" later.

Advanced Warning is a show I watched every episode of. I was in 7th-9th grade during the airing and still listen to artists now that I discovered through that show. It's weird that it's almost completely lost, because I feel like it was just yesterday that I was watching the show.

4:40 I couldn't participate in the site because I don't have an account, so I would appreciate it if someone asked the poster of the question on my behalf! I think the VHS tape he or she is referring to might be "Clyde the Frog show", which aired on PBS during the 1970s. While Clyde lacks the yellow belly and belly button that is mentioned on the post (which I assume might be a factor of false recollections), Clyde shares many qualities with Jumper: that it's a show about a frog in a Seasame Street-esque fashion prior to the 90s. There's still some clips on KZbin!

My bf could not be less interested in lost media content and I can always get him to watch your vids bc of the editing style lmao (Also a breath of fresh air to see lost media channels that are covering interesting searches and not Saki Sanobashi Again or something deeply obscure with no real info about it)

16:23 This sounds very familiar to me, I once saw a similar series where Donkey Kong's sprites were used and Super Nintendo, but actually it was really badly done, it was really just the arms that were moving, it was probably done with Flash or something. The weapons they had in their hands were just normal pictures of weapons that were simply pixelated, the blood looks like from Sonic EXE It was recommended to me by KZbin at the time, I only saw one episode as far as I remember and I don't know if I liked it or not. 😅😅😊😊😊

(THIS IS A REPOST OF A COMMENT I LEFT ON ANOTHER SHAII VIDEO, I AM SIMPLY REPOSTING AGAIN TO BOOST IT) hi shaii. i forget if youre still doing those lost media videos and i dont have any other way of contacting you (i dont have insta and you havent used twt since 2020) so hopefully you can see this and try to help us. im trying to help my friend find this mobile game he played as a kid. the estimated date was 2016/2017 and it was not a browser game. mobile specifically. the premise was that youd take care of a baby angel and demon in a talking angela esque kind of game. it had a cutesy/chibi artstyle and there was a cutscene at the start of the game where the angel baby falls from heaven. weve ruled out egg baby since that was one of the results that showed up frequently and also angel and demon: chainbound since its recent and is a puzzle/platforming game. ofc im not asking for help from shaii specifically. anyone who sees this is free to help. any info or lead would be a big help and if shaii does see this then thank you for spreading the word. it will be a huge help for me and my friend. trust me he will appreciate it greatly if its found.

Okay has anyone asked Scott Cawthon or James Murray about these short films? I feel like that would make these found media. I would assume they still have the videos, right? Also can Curly’s Adventure really be classified as lost media when we apparently have a demo and the game was cancelled before it was released. How can it be lost when it was really never available to the public to begin with?

Television broadcasting began in the 1930s in different countries. In the USA, unlike most other countries, the government did not control radio and TV broadcasting so there were hundreds / thousands of individual independent stations that all created their own exclusively local programs. Almost none of this still exists and is completely unknown except for the listings that were published in newspapers at the time - and these are only the titles of the shows, in almost every case. So you can see that if you go farther back in time, the amount of lost media is immense, and most of it will never be found.
