I didnt see it in the comments so I'll add it here. This was based on a true story about a woman who forgot her husband. The interviews of them retelling their story is very sweet, I remember the wife saying, "my brain lost my memories of him, but my feelings were undamaged and stayed the same. Every time there was a scary medical appointment, when asked who I wanted with me as my support person I always chose him because felt i could trust him and I felt so safe with this man I couldnt recognise."

What I like best about this movie is that they didn’t play the memory loss just for laughs. They show the pain behind it. And treat it with more respect than I expected in an Adam Sandler comedy. The premise uses memory loss as a hurdle to overcome, not as the butt of a joke, or making the character of Lucy out as a fool. One of the few Adam Sandler movies that I will watch time and time again.

That said, if you see duplicate comments from me at different times, that’s why. Idk if 24 hour or 10 second memory is a thing, but I can’t imagine how horrifying it would be to wake up pregnant every day for months and have no idea. And to have missed all those years of her little girl. That’s why pictures, video, journaling, etc can be so important and helpful.

The fun part of Adam Sandler movies is finding all his friends that he puts in all his movies. He also puts his family in his movies. His wife was the dentist at the beginning talking about their vacation and meeting Henry Roth. 25:23 the place they’re at is called the Callahan Institute and funded by TB Callahan out of Sandusky, Ohio. Dan Aykroyd was in a movie with Chris Farley and David Spade called “Tommy Boy” (the “TB” is Tommy Boy Callahan). Wonderful movie in so many ways, and a bit of a surprise from an Adam Sandler movie in that it was more serious and sympathetic towards the affliction than you would expect in his films.. Drew and Adam are just perfect together in all of their films and definitely worth watching the others.. You were right about him having the cast in so many of his projects as there are a lot of them in almost every film he does, such as her father, who plays with him as the assistant coach in The Waterboy and the devil's assistant in Little Nicky, or the one receptionist at the institute who is also in those films, as well as the sex-changed friend at the campfire, not to mention Rob Schneider and Steve Buscemi who also seem to pop up in his films.. Adam seems to have very strong ties to his friends and they always seem to be in his projects.. So nice to see that kind of loyalty these days with all the nonsense that goes on in Hollywood.. :)
