50 Foot Wave - Your Ghost

in 2004 Kristin Hersh recorded an excellent new version of her classic solo hit 'Your Ghost', with her band 50FootWave. this is not an official video. i edited it together using footage from the original 1994 promo video along with some live footage of 50 Foot Wave.

I think the original video disappeared 'cause of Warners making a huge stink about "their" stuff being used on KZbin without them getting money for it... I absolutely love this version. I don't know which version I prefer... Kristin has amazed me at every turn for over 20 years... She's just a total genius....

Still prefer the the original two versions by Kristin. The one with Michael Stipe and the pre-release version that came out on 4AD's 13 year itch limited edition CD. Her voice hadn't cracked at that point. Also, this song is all about quality of lyrics and feeling, so there isn't really enough room for the band to express themselves without killing that feeling. So musically they're limited to staying in first gear. A great song, but for me it's the third best version out of three.
