50 Gold per HOUR - Rogue Pickpocketing BRD guide

This guide shows how to do lockpicking in BRD for gold, once you got the route on lockdown and figure out the bosses you'll be making at the baseline 35 possibly even 60 gold/hour if you get some lucky drops. You do need a little bit of gear for the first boss, you can decide to skip this boss, though that will set you down some gold/hour

a few notes: - if you have mining you can check the first circular room at the start of BRD for dark iron nodes, you can mine these without pulling any mob - you can kill the patrolling fire elementals without using any cd and they have a 10% chance of dropping essence of fire - put the grim guzzler key up in the AH for 1g, sometimes someone buys it for some stupid reason

Just used Vanish for 8 hours of farming BRD last night. I've had a few bad vanish batches earlier in my leveling (which happened in vanilla too), but never anything like in that video. The other issues are negligible, never seen the gouge one, and the CS one is actually beneficial, if not inconsistent. Point being, it's about as buggy as vanilla was, but nothing we can't work around until they decide to make some tweaks. I agree, feign is broken. I stopped playing my hunter because of it.

There are some spots you missed. You might wanna heart this so other rogues can get this tip as well, this is all stuff I learned from private servers when grinding for my epic mount. The main route you’ve done works out well, but you skip some valuable spots especially down where the giant boss is, that entire hallway is filled with mobs you can pickpocket. You can avoid the dogs that see you through stealth quite easily since the hallway is so wide, none of the dogs are close enough to the humanoids to aggro, and on top of that if you’re mining and engineering you can grab up to 2 dark iron nodes per run, which can net you up to one dark iron bar per run maximum. Reason I say engineering is cause you need the mind control helmet to distract one pack of mobs in order to mine one of the nodes, then you’ll have to vanish. The other node is behind a pack of dogs which you can easily kill since theyre non elite. NOTE: Theres also a chance that, once you get gear, you can take on the fire elemental boss that you come across in a lava run. On the private server I was on I could only barely beat him with consumes popped, but with better gear it’ll probably be possible. You can technically also kill the chick that drops the prison cell key, but its not worth weaving through the dog packs to try and kill her, plus its a waste of time since you can’t pickpocket there. Lastly, if you can open the door behind the grim guzzler, theres some easy-to-grab mobs in that area. Just pickpocket those ones then log out reset for a little bit of extra gold per run. Try incorporating this strat into your runs, you’ll make a bit more gold than what was shown in this guide, ESPECIALLY factoring in mining some juicy dark iron. Also, on your way to BRD, theres some world dark iron spawns in the twilight encampment to the west of thorium point, and one to the east of the entrance to blackrock mountain. If they’re up, grab those too. T1 set bonus for vanish works really well for this, once you get it your death chances per run will be greatly reduced. If you have it, equip it, even if you have better gear you should still wear it. You can also do this with dagger spec, but keep in mind you probably wont be killing bosses as fast and smooth until you get some really decent purps. Perditions blade and core hound tooth will really suit you well, though there are few lower level alternatives. Its highly recommended to just go sword spec and use dal rends, atleast until you get decent daggers.

1 problem with this run. If you DON'T hit that lock there is a jump skip you can do when you go out of the window (right where the locked door would be) enabling you to get over the door without hitting the lock. Now here is why this is important. After you have finished the quest inside the bar from the Succubus woman (The quest she gives you), you can tell her to go somewhere private with the dwarf guy, this will then open the Bar door. After killing the bartender, you then walk out the bar door, jump down to where Incendius is, then make your way BACK towards the front of the instance, and since you didn't hit the lock, the massive gate will be OPEN. This enables you to pickpocket MANY easy packs on the way out, right to the front of the instance. No need to have an alt in party, you can reset the instance yourself.

In vanilla and now classic, every 8 mins mobs reset their inventory, meaning you can pickpocket them again. So if you just ignore bosses, you can keep circling around pickpocketing, without need for an alt or a reset. I use the following macro to not have to tab target, lazy mode basically. #show /targetenemy /Cast Pick Pocket /cleartarget

Fair warning: not worth if your not subtlety. master of deception, stealth speed, improved sap, and prep are all things that push this over the edge to make it worthwhile. Resists are a real issue. Most often its 1-3 resists per run. Side note: vanish in classic doesn't seem to be 100% occasionally will be knocked back out by pursuing mobs even when running away and stopattack macrod into vanish. This can be especially tilting. Setting up an alt to group with doesn't save you time as far as I can tell as you can run out of the instance in roughly 2 minutes. The gold per hour varies greatly as the creator mentions but 50g average is slightly exaggerated. With all that said, thank you to Guzu, this is a viable and efficient way to farm gold.

3:34 You dont need to vanish, just jump up on the ledge above fire brazier. You will eventually get out of combat if you stand behind pillar. Save the vanish for pickpocket resists

I had a good run, although being dagger spec I really struggled with killing the bosses and gave up - I'm specced to open with ambush and for max damage should always be behind my target, and my stealth also breaks after my first sap. This made killing the first boss extremely hard because the sap breaking my stealth means I have no opener now, and not enough time to burn the boss before I can vanish. Just a heads up for other dagger rogues; it's significantly easier when you're sword spec. I also am in mostly all pre-BiS with a few epic items.

You can extend the run by dropping down to Incendius and going to vault, pickpocket on the way. Check the AH if relic coffer keys are cheap and buy them up. You can kill the warden and potentially get a dark coffer key (if he spawns in a reasonable spot). This is probably a bit more lucrative if the relic coffer keys are reasonable.

I found out if your unable to kill the bosses, you still make at least 7g from pickpocketing every mob he tells you to, so don't feel like your not gunna make enough gold to justify the run if your not able to kill either boss. Ive been doing this run unable to kite, and kill the wizard, and every now and again being able to kill the first boss, and before i sell the loot from the boss, i always check my gold, and ive made at least 7g each time, thats not counting the extra Silver and junk from the lockboxes your gunna get. Most the time you'll walk out with at least 6 to 7 lockboxes.

In case you didn't notice subtetly has a finishing move dance because you have a chance to get a combo point and 25 energy return. Basically in dungeons garrote the target (ull get in most cases 2 combo points) hemo, ghost strike then bam eviscerate and in most cases you will get a combo point tick and if ur lucky 25 energy return then right away hemo then bam slice n dice then hemo 2 times and ghost strike then bam again eviscerate and so on... you can even include rupture into the rotation.

I've been thinking about making a video or post showing myself doing it, I go in naked except for shirt and white main hand and never kill or fight anything, i wish yours showed some sped up but otherwise unedited video of you doing this for a solid hour or so, PP can be super RNG I get double resisted fairly often and end up just waiting the 3 minutes for vanish(going off to a corner to open boxes) but I make 20-25g an hour easy without ever leaving or resetting the instance and that's not counting selling stacks(roughly 5 stacks an hour) of sup healing pots which go for around 35s-60s depending on the market

Okay, so for those not aware let me write down the issues with this method not mentioned in the video: • The pickpocket resist percentage is high, about 10-15 %. • Mobs can resist your Vanish ability and keep hitting you. • Sap can sometimes only last 1-2 seconds. • Blind can sometimes only last 1-2 seconds. • Fiery Weapon and the Cables are vendortrash so the actual gold making rate is closer to 25-45 gold/hr.

If you are freshly dinged with shit gear, you can still pickpocket your way to Spazzring (that gnome vendor) and kill him since he spends most of the fight by casting which you will LOS and thus take 0 damage. I would rather sit in OG/ST and flip AH instead if I were you since that is more usually g/h but it is still a profitable something you can do quickly while you are waiting for your group to gather for LBRS/UBRS or even BRD (but do not forget to reset the instance ofc. :D)

yo, i've been doing this brd pickpocket farm for more than two months and i have a doubt: sometimes in the pyromancer fight i sap the right mob and when i start the fight the mob wakes up for no reason. LVLing up my rouge for farming, but... I somehow got second epic mount already... On my Warlock I got it pretty ez, I lvled him not so fast, lost 2 weeks cause I got sick, but managed to be one of first lvl 60. I got herbolism and I did black lotus every night. Go all around winterspring, fly Silitis, Tp storm fly to burnings, fly to plaguelands, then all again. It was stable 3 lotus per hour. Then I did the wuest with a help for 1 lotus and 10g. Then was doing it again. Pretty ez. Holding 800g now. 80 on bank alt. 80 on rogue. Donno where to spend all of it...

On average I get 40-45/hr. The most I got hourly was 60g.... You have to sell blinding powder and the potions. Major healing pots are 8g a stack and blinding is 3g a stack on my server.

Grab the addon faster auto loot. It removes the window and makes looting even faster. Also grab a pickpocket macro. Google it, there are mouse over ones or what I use which is a clear target one and more grab whatever you like. Hell with the right nameplate addon you can track what mobs you've pickpocketed already.

IT's better not to kill the grim guzzler boss, go out the back door and continue. you can then sprint jump vanish across to the part where the vault is and open all of them up for more gold if you have keys or buy some keys off ah.

you can make a macro to auto-lockpick all your boxes (and meanwhile do something else). Also about every 1000th box you should get an epic weapon (this is all I remeber from doing exactly this back in ~2006)
