They were able to combine ugliness, creepiness (bordering on pure evil), the pathetic nature of unfulfilled desires of broken dreams and still come across as funny and relatable

I did a bit of work in Warrington, it reminded me of Royston Vasey .......a very 19th century feel to it.
@WakeyWakeyEggsandBakey7 жыл бұрын
starbar1958 I think the point is that there are many places in England that could be Royston Vasey. If anyone is born and bred in the city it might be hard to comprehend but it really is the case. I live on a tiny island in the Thames estuary and I'm sure I've seen people with webbed feet and hairy toes lol.. although I'm not insinuating in the slightest that there might be inbreeding among the "locals" ;) . It's a very strange place. it has a weird pull to it inasmuch as lots of people move away but they always seem to come back... "... You'll never leave!".
@starbar19587 жыл бұрын
Lol I wonder if you might be talking about Canvey (or Sheppey)-- I moved away from Canvey about a year ago have to agree ,the socio-economic mix is unique.
@WakeyWakeyEggsandBakey7 жыл бұрын
starbar1958 I'm speaking of the one and only Isle of Sheppey. I haven't been to a Canvey but if it's anything like Sheppey my heart goes out to you. There really is literally nothing on Sheppey with regard to community activities etc. not even a cinema. there are definite pluses to living there although it's quite hard to remember them when thinking of the many negatives. I don't know how but somehow I'm still here despite having moved to London to escape! There used to be a fantastic website called sheppeyscum which was hilarious in its observation of local culture lmao. It's a real shame it was taken down.
@starbar19587 жыл бұрын
Don't know the website but have been to Sheppey a few times, interesting place ........... Do you know the origin of the name Royston Vasey?
