Hey, great video! I was recently accepted to UR, and have heard rumors that there is grade deflation at UR. From what you can tell, I that true?
@mar_yuh14263 жыл бұрын
Ayyo congrats! Hmmm... this would be the first time I'm hearing about a grade deflation. I know that for COVID for this school year you can change 1 course per semester to a pass fail grade, but that's all I can tell that's different in terms of grading. Sorry I couldn't be of much help there! I hope Rochester is among your top choice of schools! :) Do it for the chicken sandwiches.

hi great Vid!! can you elaborate on what you mean that you don't feel safe on the edge of campus ? what about in Rochester city ?
@mar_yuh14263 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex! Yeah, let me see if I can help. Whenever I'm on campus I feel safe walking alone, even late at night. But if it is late, I would still completely prefer to walk with a group of people. Late at night, I wouldn't feel to comfortable walking around the edge of campus (there's a sidewalk that borders the edge of campus, during the day it's a common running/walking trail), specifically north along the Genesee River. South towards college-town would be a little more comfortable for me. However, at least in my case at night I've never needed/wanted to go off campus unless by car. Also, I know I didn't mention it the video, but I think a common misconception is how much students anticipate going into the city of Rochester. The city is nice, but it's not comparable to something like Boston or Toronto. You can't really do a day trip there to say the least. And unfortunately, I wouldn't say you should necessarily go at night.
@mar_yuh14263 жыл бұрын
But this being said, really 90% of the time I feel safe on campus. There's really not a lot to do immediately if you walk off campus, a lot of the great Rochester stuff like Park Ave is way more practical by car. I also don't feel the need to go off campus a lot (of course this might just be me), but there's a lot of activities on campus and different places to go so it's always a good time at UR. Hopefully this helps! Thanks so much for asking! 🤜
