I booked a plot worth Rs 80 lakhs in Jul 2022. I have paid Rs 60 lakhs till now in 8 installments (including 2 installments of 7 lakh each from Bank loan). I did not deduct any TDS till now, as the property was booked with my wife as co-owner (hence individual share 40 lakh). However, with new clarification now it seems I'll hv to deduct TDS (80000). How to submit form 26QB in this case without late fees? Can I show the transaction date of , say 1 August 24, and deposit the full 80k showing a lumpsum payment to the Seller? I had not deducted TDS till now due to this confusion in rule 194 I-A in case of multiple buyers. Please help.

Ma'am pls resolve my query- 2 buyers husband and wife. Both name are in index 2. Wife is a housewife and non earning. Wife name is added only for convenience. All the payments are done by husband. How TDS should be deducted - 1. Both 50 50 percentage 2. All 100 percent by TDS by husband. ( In this case if all done by husband then wife will not be able to file 26qb. How tax is levied on outgoings and why tax is deducted at source? It must be the responsibility of the person who receives income and this 1% deduction procedure is unnecessary harassing procedure and as such must be stopped forthwith.
