I’m gonna tell you that girl would not have released in theaters this year if the flash released last year Batgirl was always meant to be an HBOMAX movie. Which is honestly ultimately why it was scrapped for taxes It made more on taxes than potential subscription revenue from HBO Max. It is very doubtful that it would’ve made. 20 million with new subscribers. We can only hope that it does get leaked And nowadays with how readily available editing, software, and all this AI and everything is the fans will have it finished to a washable degree within two months of it leaking. We just have to hope it leaks.

Fun fact about the Golem movies. It's Not a trilogy like Star Wars of Back to the Future where you have a ongoing plot or anything. The first one is set in the then present where an old Golem is found during construction of a well. The second one is a meta narrative in which the actor who played the Golem in the first movie (and wrote and directed) falls in love with a woman who is a fan of the original Golem flick. So he dresses himself Up as the Golem and ships himself to her house pretending to be a statue and a gift of said actor. The third one is a prequel to the first in which the Golem is created in medieval Prague

The Apt Pupil section is filled with misinformation. Different Seasons is a short story collection. Not a novel. Apt pupil was the original name for the story, as it was one of the short stories from different seasons. Therefore, the title was not changed. Shawshank Redemption and Stand by me also come from different seasons.

While I am disappointed by Batgirl's cancellation (mainly for Brendan Frasier and Michael Keaton), I was absolutely pissed that Scoob: Haunted Holiday not only also got cancelled, but its cancellation didn't make the news as loudly as Batgirl did. It was reportedly even closer to completion than Batgirl and it also tested well. And yes, Scoob got mixed reviews, but because it was released digitally due to theater closures that year, it was very successful in its own right. Both the writer Paul Dini and voice of kid Shaggy, Ian Armitage (sp? same kid that plays Young Sheldon) were vocally disappointed by this. And frankly, because the original Scoob did well because of the digital release, not releasing the Christmas prequel/midquel film digitally and direct to Blu-Ray/DVD was absolutely idiotic. Also, could you imagine if Bob Clampett's seriously animated film got made? That's a whole other side of him. He's usually just known as the wackiest Looney Tunes director.
@JamesLawner Жыл бұрын
Considering how many straight-to-DVD Scooby-Doo movies get released per year, what would be the big deal in releasing Holiday Haunt in that way? If they were looking for money, this would be a good way to generate it!
@mightyfilm Жыл бұрын
@@JamesLawner If the logic was that it was several times the budget of a standard DTV Scooby movie and they didn't want to release it that way, that's idiotic. I don't see why releasing directly to point of purchase home media would have hurt them more than using it as subscription fodder for a streaming service. The fact it was considered "race to content" content (which is killing streamers now) and ONLY released through that means was beyond idiotic, especially since WB does release their streaming exclusives on home video. They did it with Doom Patrol, they did it with Harley Quinn, even Hulu's Animaniacs. Why wasn't a Blu-Ray or on demand release of Holiday Haunt out of the question? They couldn't have lost more money than they did with The Flash just now.

Surpised you mentioned "Canceled Sitcoms" and not "Sadistic Bitch", which also went missing the same way. Brad had said it was his and his buddies' drinking movie, and it was the one film he made that he actually put effort into trying to recover. Whether or not its plot sounds any good or appealing is up for debate, but given its more of a revenge horror exploitation film, which falls in line with a lot of the movies he's reviewed, I'd see it doing well among his fanbase if were put online

You left out the big reason the silent version of Anne of Green Gables was lost: the lead actress, Mary Miles Mitner, had written love letters to a director who was murdered in 1922, and she wasn't charged of anything, but this came fast on the heels of the Roscoe Arbuckle scandal so her career was totally over. Corrections regarding Different Seasons: 1) it was a novella anthology with 4 stories, not a single novel, with only one of them being Apt Pupil. 2) Apt Pupil was the original name of the story within Different Seasons. 3) 2 other stories in Different Seasons were made into movies; "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Body", the latter of which was retitled "Stand By Me". Sorry, this part bothered me a lot as I have read Different Seasons and genuinely am a huge fan of the movie adaptations made from it (discluding Apt Pupil, but that's just different taste)

The cancelation of Batgirl as well as a number of DC Animated Projects, a major issue to many people is the question on where WB draws the line the line, because after they invest more into The Flash staring Ezra "Do You Want a Hawaiian Punch" Miller, like just one of the things Miller did would get anyone else canceled, and DC Fans were just asking for consistency. Anyhow, so far DC movies are not doing well in the box office for the past year and it's mostly due to the lose of faith that movie goers have with WB, and things might not look good for Blue Beatle and Aquaman 2 (even more so with the later seeing it will feature the DCEU's Second Most Divisive Actor Amber Heard). With Batgirl, Peter Sefran did said he watched it and it was bad, but that's just one guys opinion, and we can't ever know. Maybe Batgirl would have been the Hit that saves DC Movies, or maybe it would have been Very Bad, tho probably not "Choking Your Fans in Iceland" Bad. Like it should be up to the Movie Goers to judge what Film is good or bad

Brendan Fraser mentioned how a rough cut was screened for an audience in a theater, which is odd since they didn’t intend for the film to be released in theaters, and because of the unfinished shape of the film the audience did not like it and this was enough of an inventive by Warner Bros. to cancel the film and not release it so it could be a tax right off. I can’t recall which interview he said this in, I want to say Howard Stern, but I could be wrong about that. It was one of the interviews he did while promoting The Whale, but he didn’t go into much details about the film so what would have happen is anyone’s guess and it could have been some kind of adaptation of Batgirl: Year One.
