Geo guys you need a “side of the street” guy who tells you what side you’re driving every round. Would’ve helped in that Singapore round

Couple of easy pointers: Brazil - back of the road signs are black Columbia - back of road signs have a "cross" on them. Piece of metal going straight up and a small piece going across it. This is known as the "Columbian cross" Iceland - the Iceland d looks different than other nordic countries. It has a line across it and looks like a cross "đ" it can often be tilted too.
@e_eyster
@e_eyster 2 жыл бұрын
Bigger Colombia one is just yellow plates. That tends to be the easier way to ID unless you got a highway with no traffic. Colombia Crosses is better if you are doing NMPZ.

Love this series, hate to see the GeoGods struggle like this! Feel like you guys had some troubles with Nordic countries, here are some tips that will help: In Norway, some cars will have green plates (service vehicles). Norway also frequently uses long white dashes on side of the road. Sweden uses shorter dashed white lines on the outside of the road. They also have yellow warning signs with thin red outside borders. Finland uses very distinctive small white street signs and blue highway signs, and will often have double yellow lines. In Denmark, they have very distinct street signs with red letters. Many times you will see signs end with "vej" which is specifc to the country. You will sometimes see yellow plates (service vehicles). In Iceland, the google car has a long antenna, which it doesn't have in any other Nordic countries. Hope this helps!

Also, the alphabet used by Russia and other former Soviet countries is Cyrillic. It is vital to be able to identify something that is written in Cyrillic because it narrows it down to like 12 countries immediately
@Joemamahahahaha821
@Joemamahahahaha821 2 жыл бұрын
You guys really gotta get the Cyrillic countries down. All those countries you were guessing use the Latin alphabet. That’s the next big step for y’all because it splits Eastern Europe right in half (not really) but makes Europe more parsable
@chasestankievech

Exactly... and I believe Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, and Montenegro are the only countries in the game that use cyrillic, and since many of those had already been guessed I was yelling Ukraine at my computer. Same with Slovenia the round prior, all the big countries with the Alps had been guessed except for that one

Helpful Tips: -Most of Bulgaria was photographed in the winter so if you see a snowy Eastern European looking country that’s the best guess. -If a country has the Cyrillic (“Russian”) looking alphabet it’s either Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, or Serbia. -Yellow License Plates = Netherlands, Luxembourg, or occasionally Belgium or Hungary
