one of the preachers that I love HB Charles Jr. He is so passionate about God and his word. You are a blessing to the church.

HB Charles Jr on Preaching, “ You are not writing an essay to be read. You are writing a message to be heard.” So good.

I have been the pastor/preacher/evangelist for over 50 years. This is some of the best advice that I have ever heard, bar none. This was an entire college course presented honestly and directly and memorably in only a few moments. My one regret is that I did not hear it 50 years ago. Well Done Brother Charles

"It is the will of God to have the Spirit of God use the Word of God to make the children of God look like the Son of God." H.B. Charles Jr. I came across that quote from a friends FB page and I was like - wow! And I had to dig a bit deeper on the man behind it. I am most assurdely glad that I did - Thank you sir for this video, keep on keeping on! To God be the glory!

I love point 29. Use scripture for illustrations. I have a white board and as I read the Bible I will draw out what I'm hearing and it helps me understand and also grow in my understanding of the thread of scripture. Great point

Valuable tips for preaching indeed pastor HB. I enjoy listening to your sermons. Point 50, live what you preach, incorrect reference to guarding your life and doctrine, should be 1 Timothy 4 verse 16 and not but 1 Peter 4 verse 16.

Thank you so much for this. Kindly clarify on "Think Series not sermons." Blessings
@hbcharles Жыл бұрын
Thinking series, not sermons, helps in planning your preaching for weeks or even months ahead. It also gives you the opportunity to consider how you can dig deeper into a passage and subject, rather than expecting the one sermon to do all the work. Pastoral preaching is more about getting on base each week than knocking the ball out of the park. Thinking series will help you get "base hits" that will to runs over time. (Sorry if the baseball analogy is too much. LOL).

Thank you again for your reply. I understand now. I have shared this with my fellow church elders and the response has been massively positive. I have bookmarked this for my continous personal learning. God bless you sir.

Another tip: pay attention to diction. The word "ask/asked" is pronounced as it is spelled -- NOT "axe/axed."
