When it comes to jeans. Have you noticed if certain sizes have better sell through rates than others regardless of the brand name?
@LindeyGlenn7 жыл бұрын
Levis Signature is sold at Wal-Mart (I think they still are??) So they aren't as good resale BUT larger sizes (14 and up in womens) and most men's can still bring $10 plus shipping. Smaller size levi's signature I avoid because they sit waaaay too long or sell for profit pennies :)

Thanks for the content Chris - seeing tags and hearing brands is a great way to learn for me. Jeans are definitely something I stray from because of the cost here at our Goodwill stores. But knowledge is power when you are going to different sources for inventory - such as the bins, garage sales, or the like. Hope to continue dialogue with you through your eBay ventures.

I still don't like the shipping costs on Ebay, I mean I simply don't understand it works. How can you charge a flat rate for international shipping when shipping costs fluctuate from country to country? Love these videos btw. Thanks.
@davidholguin91923 жыл бұрын
The flat rate only covers shipment to the international shipping center in the US. Beyond that point is the responsibility of the buyer.

Hey 10k. Just wanted to comment on a show you did with Chris where you mentioned thank you notes. I do packing slips, and there is a section there for my seller logo. I cannot get this to work properly so the result is a little blank "text box" on the page. I have found a simple "Thank you, Nadia" in this box elicited three messages back saying they appreciated it. And great feedback, of course. I've only had 50 odd sales so far (total newb) but it sure does make an impression on the customers, and takes me literally 10 seconds. I decided to combine this with the printed thank you AND repeat customer bonus by getting discount/thank you cards printed, and then signing those instead of the packing slip. Oh - another thought - maybe you could incorporate a QC logo on the cards somewhere. I've been putting that in my "text box" as well. I don't know if it makes any difference, but it lets the buyer know that I am human, I care, and I have checked. And a HUGE thank you for your channel and info. You inspire me.

How are you able to tell a repeat customer? That can be hard if a seller has 100's or 1000's. Congrats on your great job.

Paper Denim & Cloth (PD&C) was a good brand back in the day (early days of "designer denim", late 90s early 00s, similar to 7FAM and COH). Good looking jeans, very well-made, great selection of washes. Went downhill when the founder Scott Morrison left to start Earnest Sewn (I think). I believe he left that company too but is now doing super well running his brand 3x1. I've only found one pair of 3x1 jeans at GW (used), they were selvedge and sold fast for over $50. super expensive when new, he dresses a lot of celebs.
@mrs_d3n1mx287 жыл бұрын
sorry, back to PD&C... they really were one of the top few brands when designer jeans first became popular in early 00s. once Scott left, the quality declined and the brand folded. however there have been at least 2 efforts to resurrect the brand, although I think they both were licensing deals and the quality was rly bad, and resulted in crap sales. I assume this is why I see so many NWT PD&C jeans out there, normally that'd be weird for a brand that has been discontinued for a while. So I'm not saying don't pick them up for eBay, I'm just saying it might be worth doing some research to make sure youre investing in products w the kind of quality your customers will expect. some folks might think all PD&C is as amazing as it was in the 00's, would suck if they bought jeans from you and discovered the quality was more along the lines of Kohl's. ;) hope that helps!!

Hi. Thanks for the video! You mentioned that they are not that profitable. If that's the case then why do you sell them? If anyone else can comment please do. I'm brand new at selling jeans, haven't sold any yet. I'm compiling a list of brands. I see some more brands listed in the comments below. Thank you everyone!

It seems like American Eagle and Levi's are going for around $15-$20 at the most on eBay. After shipping and other fees do you still consider jeans profitable to pick up?

They were my #1 best selling jeans for a long time on eBay! Their value has dipped a bit the last few months but that's just the normal cycle of trends. I still pick them up at GW when I see them, but I am super picky about the condition. The girls seem to love their MM so much that they wear them to death... Seriously, I've seen so many Miss Me and Rock Revivals that have been worn down to barest threads. And of course the first thing to fall apart is all the rhinestone bling, so make sure all the embellished buttons, rivets, etc are still intact before purchasing. Cheers!

I typically enjoy your content but you really should have done more research prior to this video. It really shows how little you know about the topic. Levi's numbers, tag colors, and age should have been a focus and fall into the back of your hand info for clothing sellers. Vintage desirable information as well...Hilfiger 90's styles etc. Duluth isn't outdoors but highest quality workwear which is 2x as valuable as Carhartt. No focus on Rock Revival which is the hottest brand on the planet. Love your stuff but this was a real stretch.
