I agree because most social studies classes are made for brainwashing us into thinking women are inherently better if we maybe taught both biological things and social norms then of course we'd be much better at understanding than just learning how without why

They don't understand mutual symbiotic relationships and basic biology. How men and women have different things to offer each other because they're different from each other. But dont blame them, it doesn't help when you look up the definition of symbiotics it has been twisted by "equality" and now says "she fixes your car, you style her hair" Dont get me wrong, I dont care who fixes whos car or hair but it's getting ridiculous that the fabric of our society is being patched over because its "disrespectful, sexist and ignorant" to use traditional gender stereotypes instead of using opposite stereotypes...

Roadstar1602 honestly I might research this further just to see wether in some of these studies if neuroplasticity and the increased ability for toddlers and babies to pick up on social cues from their parents or other adults were taken into account in some of these studies because there also is scientific research that highly suggests that people’s brains can change to support what a group labels them as. I also found that many of her citations weren’t the studies themselves and instead a book that could possibly have skewed data towards a bias based on its title (although without more research and being able to get my hands on the book I can’t concretely say that as a fact or otherwise, and part of me doubts it’s in my local library). All I’m trying to say is I am always a skeptic about these sort of things and regardless of the person’s politics I’m training myself to look for gaps in logic and these were some possible things that should at least be considered.

Jerry Gonzales there’s no doubt that they do have equal rights in the US and other countries, but there are still some countries that haven’t reached that point yet. @trconlyme5391 5 жыл бұрын
When people say men and women are the same they mean that men and women have the same VALUE. And deserve the same OPPORTUNITIES. Which is not the case in most part of the world. The scientific differences may be true, but it is also true that behaviors throughout human history have negated women to subservient positions that last to this day, undervaluing connections and emotions (damaging male growth) and valuing aggression and violence. Misogyny, patriarchy, chauvinism and sexism are real. They stunt the growth of both genders by binding them to an enhanced "genetic blueprint" that should not be the norm nowadays. Humans have proved to overcome a lot of instincts and in the video she herself says that although we may have genetic differences and process information differently, it doesn't mean that those differences are rules set in stone. We have a wide range of exceptions. Women who take risks and act rashly, men who are nurturing and express emotionally. We are much more than animals and our society has to reflect that.

@@ÉmerickBrault Why is the video making you sad? 😢 I can't imagine what would be causing emotional discomfort. The healthiest way to deal with emotional discomfort, is to embrace the 5 Stages of Grief. Anger, Barter, Denial, Depression and Acceptance. Sometimes humans get stuck on one of those, and suffer needlessly, and indefinitely...needless selfinflicted suffering is truly sad😢. Just like the evolutionary behavioral biology topics in the video, all other aspects of common human behavioral patterns have evolutionary purposes. They evolved for a reason. Anger, barter, denial, depression and acceptance...each has an evolutionary purpose, and by the time you're finished processing acceptance, you've grown as a person...and your biology gives you a reward (in the form of positive emotions). Our biolology uses the carrot and stick method to induce certain behavior in us. The carrot reward is immediate gratification/long term fulfillment...and the stick punishment is the opposite of that. If you get stuck in the 5 Stages of Grief, your body will whack you with the stick (emotional unfulfilment) indefinitely. It's why animals in zoos become depressed. We're preventing them from carrying out the behavior that results in their biology giving them carrots. We humans built giant zoos for ourselves...but we at least have the cognitive ability to study and understand the realities of our biology, and then use that power to navigate our sad situation.

LOL, boys can be fucking crazy. I am in my 40s now. Me and my buddy sometimes laugh over a video we did when we were about 17. I strapped a wooden board to my leg and strapped homemade firecrackers to it. Thankfully none of them exploded. Today we don't know what we were thinking. Those huge firecrackers (small bombs really) could have seriously injured me but all my friends just laughed and none tried to stop me. Young men are idiots :) Also when driving his parents car another friend would out of nowhere pull the handbrake or just remove the keys making the car almost impossible to steer.

@H-hewwo ???? feminism is like religion, it's a group of too much people with too many different beliefs. One group claim one thing and another claim the opposite but in the end it's just personal beliefs based of their own morality rather than the greater good like they claim. And at the end of the day the movement represent so many different opinion that it's name don't mean anything anymore. Each group trying to profit from the original movement good points and each receiving the hate and dislike that their worst members cultivate. In the end they all cling to the name for some obscure reasons and it's all pointless. But at least religious group try to separate each other by modifying the name a little sometimes.

@Piano Piano its oddly obvious in videogames, its like a mans ancestral playground and it highlights all our differences quite nicely. as well as women being natural at nursing and care giving jobs. the way its not worth including women in the army, its just so natural that we dont notice the differences anymore in modern comfort the lines can blur naturally, cause up until recently the man had to take financial care of a bajillion babies, and the woman had to take care of said babies, so that they didnt all die of starvation or whatever, thats why marriage was less about romance and more about the practical necessities of running a household. there was not a lot of room for those other genders, who dont tend to procreate and thus fail at the game of life, and so must be popping up randomly like some other psychological disorders that we're just prone to getting cuz we're too complex. we live in good times

Yes, the meaning is that when you transcend differences, creation happens. Meaning is the most important thing. People focus too much on the individual words and not enough on the context. They get locked into only one symbolic aspect of things by fears and emotions or pleasure, etc. the two halves of the brain, the origin of geometry in two points, entanglement, but all the real magic happens in the transcendence of these opposites by unity. In that sense gender divisions seem to be the last great hurdle to transcend in an individual mind to move on to something greater. Everything is symbolic. Maybe that’s the real message. It’s like reading, the important thing is the invisible meaning and the tangible aspects are only important for that invisible higher purpose. The conflict comes because of perhaps the two ways of viewing Ian McGilchrist talks about. That’s probably the whole reason gender issues are so contentious.

I was a very girly girl who hated dolls because they were boring (I much preferred animal toys and cars) and I'd get into a lot fights, climb, and preferred to play alone. However, I still drew princesses and horses. Ultimately, i believe there's a lot more individual variation when it comes to play preferences than research suggests. But the way girls and boys act in social groups rings very true!

There are always anomalies to a rule with everything. Where I agree that it is probably more complex than the research suggests I also believe that even if a boy and a girl do stray from there sex’s general preference that they may be doing it for different reason and from different perspectives. For example a girl may play football for the team network whereas boys would play from a competitive standpoint

@@Purple_911 at least in my country and I guess I can assume it's more of a general rule, more female are likely to be in the education system, esp. in the early years... and this is indeed not a small issue for boys in the school system... and when more girls will be supported with extra programs no wonder the education results are way better for girls for many years now. I remember an article about a university which created a program for boys/men, and was critised because of it. There thinking was 40% and less men in their classes - we need to change that... big backlash in the media. A few years ago. Also it's mentioned in this great video, women still seek rank and status as marriage material and with higher education of women and job opportunities this is not a small issue for both sexes...

Of couse we should apply them in the same way to individuals. The key thing to acknowledge here is that we should not make assumptions before behaviour is displayed. You said that maybe half traits can be applied to you. If a women that you interact with detect 25 of these traits in a conversation, she could easier have an understanding. Also what you didn't mention is the context of enviroment. Put yourself with 5 other people on an island or the jungle. I'm pretty sure after a while that some more traits would manifest.

About the toy preferences--The way you were talking made it sound like you think people find it sexist to have boys play with trucks and girls play with dolls. I don't take that view at all, and I think many people who are into deconstructing the gender binary don't either. I think the problem arises when parents get angry at their children for choosing toys that don't match up with the norms associated with their gender. There are boys who prefer dolls and girls who prefer trucks, and that is okay! In the same vein, girls who prefer dolls and boys who prefer trucks are also okay! Kids should just be allowed to choose the toys they have and play with. It's as simple as that. Also, I noticed that you attribute all of this to biological differences but I can see where many of these traits are influenced by socialization as well. I think there are both biological and social influences on most facets of who we are as people because we don't exist in a vacuum. So I think it's a bit reductionist to view all of this as biology only.

They still get handouts exclusively for being women without having to do anything in return. The more feminist a country becomes, the less personal freedom there is. Just look at Australia right now.
