I loved this machine. The top part you would put a stick of butter in it and the steam would melt it and the moving rod would constantly move everything around and evenly distrubute the butter, then you salted it afterwards. I miss my machine ::p

9:16 Looks like some of the popcorn is a little brownish on the fluffy part of the popcorn; anytime we've made popcorn with brownish tint they're just a tad burned and can taste that. Popcorn should be fluffy white without any brownish color on the fluffy part. We still may purchase this to see if ours stays fluffy white and if the popcorn in this video may have just been a little burned. (not burned black, but just a tint of brown is seen on many in this video).
@Patriciapetra Жыл бұрын
Yes, I think once there are only a few seconds between pops, then you have to quickly turn it off. Even then it burns very easily. I think he left his too long. I’ve used it twice and both times, a few burnt. If every kernel pops; you know you burnt it, lol!😂

We have one of these poppers and we have been having trouble with it leaving a bunch of kernels unpopped. To me, the stirring rod seems like it is a bad design, not much contact with the kernels. To me, I think the stirring rod needs to be flipped the other way so it makes more contact but of course it can't because of the way it is made. Have tried couple different types of popcorn and both does the same thing, doesn't pop up very good. Anyone else have this issue?

@HansMoorefacepaint Жыл бұрын
Sorry you got burned. I wish the top locked down, but I DID NOT know this when I bought this 10 yrs ago. flipping the bowl over is very tricky and I used oven mits. Not a great design for flipping the bowl over. Poor design. Yet, it pops fine. I still use mine with caution. MAYBE they have better poppers out now. Not sure.
You directions are too ambiguous. First you said teaspoon next you said a tablespoon. You need to get it right in the beginning to me.

We have a similar popcorn maker (different maker, same principle) and ours burnt at the beginning too. So we did some research and experimentation. 1. You need a good oil. Coconut oil (odorless) proved to be the best for us. And don't skimp on the amount you put in. 2. Experiment with different corn sorts/brands, see which one pops the bigger/better popcorns. So far, Chio popcorn worked best for us. 3. You need to let the oil heat before you put the kernels! Put one or two first and when they pop you put in the rest. 4. We turn off the machine when the popping slows down and when it stops we flip it upside down as soon as possible. We did a batch last night and they turned out great, no burnt popcorns. :)
