The one with the makeshift lamp that used a plastic can and a sweater ( time stamp: 14:37 ) -- I'm not sure that would be safe ? The lightbulb gives off heat and the sweater would trap the heat, making it even more warm for the plastic to be affected, and the sweater. I would want to be sure that the covered area of the "lamp shade" was very well ventilated. The top area is also covered by the sweater (or so it seems) and heat rises, so it would try to "escape" via the top and not the bottom of the "shade". That being said, a lot of awesome ideas. I wish they had directions for all these, like the things that are sewn or created - like how much of each ingredient, what are the measurements for DIY crafts, etc. Also, where they're able to find some of the supplies, or if some supplies are only available in certain locations. I'd also be interested to know that, in the couple of crafts using alginate to create a mold, if you could use sand as the mold agent, as the sand could be reused for future molds, while alginate cannot be reused or repurposed. In the case of the alginate, have their been any ideas to try to repurpose it - or whatever - since it is technically considered a "waste mold" (once and done).

@@SerendipityNow19 While LED light bulbs do produce some heat, they get significantly less hot than traditional incandescent bulbs, meaning they are usually only slightly warm to the touch and are considered much safer in terms of heat generation; most of the heat is dissipated through a heat sink in the base of the bulb. (Keep in mind that being enclosed, like the sweater on top as in the video, the heat WOULD, over time, get "trapped".) That being said, I don't believe they specified what kind of bulb it was (it's been 2 years since I posted my original comment, so ... I honestly don't recall) .... so if not specified, my statement still stands if someone used a non-LED lightbulb for that particular 'hack".
