This is called as a chain slider. Not even mechanics know about the importance of this part. It has to be replaced every 20K kms.

uneven tension mostly means , either front or rear sprocket has gone bad, also check for sprocket tensioner clip, it may have some free play.

Dear Bud, After I've fitted new tyres on my R15V3, am facing issues related to gear shifts, chain tension and fuel efficiency. I feel difficulty in shifting, clunky gear shifts and noticed that chain becomes too tight automatically even after multiple cleaning + tension adjustments. Since, the chain becomes too tight, bike doesn't accelerate fast enough and causes a drop in mileage by 8KMPL. Kindly help. Thanks!

Hi, The root cause seems to be the chain. As you already have checked the alignment and rest of the important stuff (I hope there are no frozen links), I will suggest you to redo the chain slack adjustment once again and this time try check the slack at multiple rotation points of the chain before making the final adjustments. Also don't over tight the rear axle.
