Original rates were fun in a way. It took forever to level up your character due to not only slower exp gain rates, but also there was no explorer notes, swamp/snow cave, nor even alphas. You actually put those parasaurs/trikes/raptors to good use. Also taming was somewhere between 0.2x - 0.25x. It took me around 8 hours to tame a level 58 mammoth when the wild dino level cap was 60, but taming max level creatures was worth it because you had a really powerful dino compared to everyone else. Fun times!!

I'm really curious about what you said about flyers. I've been researching into what Day 1 Ark looked like for a while and everywhere I've looked it lists Ptera and Argentavis as present at launch, while Quetzal was added in October 2015. Do you have a more accurate source I can read? I really would like to put together a reliable list of exactly what tames/engrams/items were available on Day 1 before any subsequent patch, so I appreciate any help!

Yeah - it was added eight after launch - it is more like a "there were a few days in between" it is pretty hard to find official stuff because there is always a difference when it was officially added and when it was created and available

You forget to say about the Cooking pot that in the old days you couldn't see the recipe in it you needed to know it by getting it from the loot in the drops or by killing some dinos and you can't forget the dead lands before the redforest 😂

Having played ark from day 1 on xbox, this video brings back memories. The first time I got raided was by a group if turret quetz and I ran all the way up north with our best bps to swim down to our pearl cave. I've only ever played official 1x and I'm on 1x now on asa, this game rocks. There is no other like it. Viva Ark

I started playing a week after it's release. Island didn't have swamp or snow and green ob was blue obb. Max dino was 90 then 120 then 150. Got 26 metal with an anky out of a small metal rock.

2015... Was a great time to play right after they finished most of the updates for the island I waited patiently.There are more creatures and dinos out... I think breeding had just dropped if I remember correctly.. And either the swamp or the snow biome, had just been added. That was when I started.

Does anyone remember how long it would take for one of the presidency generated maps to to actually generate it took hours that’s why me and my friend preferred just going with the island or center

@@realdodofrodo I barely remember it because we only ever made two worlds it would normally take around I think 30 to 45 minutes for a world to generate or something like that me and my buddies tried to play on one of them but we kept having some major issues with it like one of us kept falling through the map we were almost constantly lost, and we didn’t know where anything was. It was fun until it got annoying
