@@sophiazcolley Hey Sophia! I actually already have a tutorial on how to create holographic stickers in Photoshop, as well as one on how to scan in stickers yourself and cleaning them up! And in fact I also have one on how to make custom plastic textures!

Definitely #1 is learning the shortcuts, it became second nature for me and now i have to alter other programs to match photoshop/illustrator's shortcuts hahaha, Also for me taking a class in the basics of Adobe Illustrator, and an additional one about drawing in illustrator was essential for me. For illustrator the best thing i did was to learn the pen tool inside and out!! Do that and you'll be unstoppable.... and impress others by telling them you drew a realistic portrait with the pen tool in illustrator lol. My favorite piece of work is still my portrait I did of Bella Hadid entirely using the pen tool in illustrator back in 2017. Wish I could post a picture of it in the comments honestly! Keep up the great videos! Love the tips, even when I feel I already know them it's great to be reminded of the fundamentals and to hear from other creatives to keep on track, and stay inspired!

Great video!!! Great tips super helpful! Tip i can give any new creative: Keep being creative and work towards your dream. If majority of your work isn't what your passion about or you got a gig your dont love, use it to gain the skills you need to keep working at the passion or dream gig. Also sometime its nice to have that day gig pay for the ability to follow more passion freelance jobs/gigs. Just like Tom said with doing more assets than just a music cover, same goes for other graphic aspects. Client needs shirt graphic, offer a mock up, tech pack or a promo graphic of flyer for the final production piece or for pre orders. Lets your design skills lead your other creative skills!

3:23 very useful, so much so that have you thought maybe that in order to make up for this gap you could raise your hourly pricing respectively? if you rule that out that's fine, but just don't tell people to ultimately cease from charging hourly.
@Dreadlabs9 ай бұрын
That's possible, but you can't justify raising your prices to the same client every single week. You can however justify naming a price per project upfront everytime you start a new project. If you want to learn more about this topic I suggest checking out Chris Do's talk about it. Hourly based pricing doesn't make sense for creative freelancers, value based pricing does.

DREADLABS!!! can you please make a video on frutiger aero, i know it’s not really close to *your* style, but if there’s anybody that could make a killer video on it it’d be you. please do a lot of research (i trust you would) before hand, like many know how to do the orbs, but also like abstract streaks used in 2000s desktop screensavers. also like option bubbles, like the ‘buttons’ on the wii sports menu (for ‘tennis’ ‘boxing’ etc.) i’m sure there’s much more. lmk if you’d be willing to give it a shot! i love your content!

17:00 thats actually wrong, its the opposite, when you get paid by "family and friends" there is no way they can refund the money unless you send back the money, while "for goods and service" they can refund the money claiming they didnt recive the design since there is no shipping code etc, so try to get paid family and friends if u suspect that they might ask for a refund, same way u should be careful when paying since if u pay friends and family there is no way u get refund the money
@Dreadlabs9 ай бұрын
Are you sure? Because I’ve had this with a client (actually a scammer). They disputed a refund but only if I complied to it they were able to get a refund. This was back in 2021 however so it might be updated in the meantime

I prefer Behance over Pinterest
@Dreadlabs9 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing! Could you tell why?
@overdrive1129 ай бұрын
@@Dreadlabs I guess it’s just personal preference because on Pinterest i always feel like like I’m scrolling too much looking for stuff I’m actually interested in, and on Behance I’m literally overwhelmed with god tier inspo just on start page. And I’m always jealous of the jobs people get and post there. Do you have experiences with it aswell?
@Dreadlabs9 ай бұрын
That sounds dope! I do love the in depth case studies on Behance, sometimes it’s a bit hard to find what I’m looking for exactly, which is where Pinterest just throws so much at me that there’s always something interesting to see for me. I think both have their charms and their weaknesses!
