During this pandemic, I've been having so much trouble sleeping ( my best friend, who works in the medical field, got covid and was extremely ill, permanent heart damage and asthma. Not being able to see her or help was awful...worrying became a bad habit), that I gave up and get up every morning at 4 am and go running at 6 am, just to keep the awful 3 am depression at bay. Running somehow makes me feel like I'm doing something that is at least, not negative. I still have trouble sleeping, so when I go to bed, I listen to these stories. They calm me down, which is weird, but it feels like I'm not the only person up, and your voice is just perfect for the dark of night! I can't tell you how much I appreciate knowing I'm not "alone" during the long hours of insomnia. There are people from all over the world listening and enjoying the same scary stories, and it feels like a community, even if I don't know them, I know others are awake and listening, and things somehow don't seem so bad...also, my cat and dogs LOVE listening, they pile on the bed, I light the fire, and get hot water bottles and we hunker down. It's made a huge difference! Thank you so much!!

@@boogiebear3095 Thank you! I know I have been so lucky to have not been horribly ill! I'm just a worrywart! I did adopt a rescue dog and cat and they are so great, it's a joy every day, they get along and have fun with us, and we started a rose garden, so I shouldn't complain! I just always had insomnia all my life, and this pandemic is now the monster under the bed, I guess. Actually, getting up and running helps and I never ran at all in my life before! I don't know why i even started, but once i did, i couldn't stop. I lost a ton of weight, which was pretty cheering, and i like seeing the other people out at the park every day, gasping and loping along. We don't talk, just wave and smile, and it feels like you are kind of social, so it's nice. I love hearing these stories though, even when they're terrifying, it just takes the mind off everything! Thank goodness we have this!

Here in Quebec we are in almost full confinement with a curfew for a month from 8 pm to 5 am. It's the perfect time to listen to police and EMT stories!! They're the only ones allowed in the streets at that hour.

That's horrifying!!! Why can't you even walk your dogs or go to the store? Is it that bad there? We are in Texas, where people will NOT keep a distance so the infections are through the roof, but even during New Years Eve, everyone in town had obviously spent their life savings on fireworks, and it was insane all night! Fireworks are completely illegal in our city, but everyone ignored it this year and the police looked the other way. It was crazy! This week the hospitals are overflowing with covid cases, and out of beds. Still, all businesses are open and bars are packed....

@christineparis5607
@christineparis5607 3 жыл бұрын
@@Nikki_81 I'm so glad that they are taking it seriously! It just seems so awful to be locked down so hard! I think that is what it takes though, our city was so unbelievably ham handed from the beginning, that way too many people were affected, and here, there is still a very strong culture of people in trouble banding together, ever since the Alamo. It's ingrained in the Texas psyche that if you're going to face death, you're going in a big group, with a lot of music and tequila, and that's pretty much what's been happening. It's ok if you are facing Santa Ana in a last stand, but not so good for containing a pandemic....

SAME. I LOVE Mike and Bailey, however there's just something about these stories told the way he tells them so well -not too fast and not too vague or too specific- but one of the best things for me is how they're nice, long videos with a great range of stories within the category. I also like that there's no videos/pictures because i seem to be incapable of just listening to the audio and not getting stuck watching whatever is in the video so it's nice not to have the option altogether lol

Dude, postpartum depression isn't a joke and doctors need to take it more seriously because I've heard stories of untreated PPD women who suffer severe psychotic breaks because of the overwhelming drop in hormones. Not everyone has this happen, but it's definitely something that needs to be tended to more vigorously. I feel bad for the baby, but I feel worse for the mother, because it sounds like a psychotic break due to the hormone imbalance after childbirth.

I got a few stories my dad has oked me to say as long as names and everything are kept out. My dad had been a firefighter for over 30yrs, police for 10, and EMT for 30+(Hes still a EMT and a federal security officer). When he first became a firefighter at like age 20 he and a police officer witnessed this truck hit a train then had to witness the guy burn to death while concious because he was pinned and my dad hadn't been issued his jump bag yet to even try to help him he unfortunately was long gone by the time firetrucks got there. Several years later he and a fellow firefighter were driving behind one another and this motorcyclist went head first into a tree it internally decapitated him on the spot and they told my dad if it wasn't for them being there and helping within 30 seconds the guy would've been dead, my dad did everything right had the other guy call a medical heli and gave directions while my dad held the guys neck in place He and the other guy got essentially a first responder version of a purple heart due to it. Idk if the guy ended up surviving but I know he was in the hospital for a few days atleast. Last story happened a couple years before my dad retired, this kid was on his phone walking backwards while talking to his friends so not paying attention whatsoever. He stepped off the side walk right into the lugnuts of a semi trucks tire. The poor kid had his intestines strewn at least 15/20ft away from him, his junk was hanging off between his legs and a couple of his organs next to him. My dad and the team got him patched up the best they could and he lived a couple days in the ICU but unfortunately passed which from what I was told, was probably best he did because if he managed to survive he would've been a vegetable and what he could feel he would've been in immense pain every day of his life. Everytime we're on the sidewalk now my dad yells at me if I walk backwards to face them even tho I'm 22 now he still forces me to walk properly. My dad is my biggest hero and idk how that man doesnt have ptsd from the shit hes experienced. Hes the reason I plan on becoming a first responder. Oh and one of his last calls there was a huge welding factory fire they ended up fighting for 2 and half days the sky was literally a big black wall from it. But there was propane tanks exploding left and right so they had to continuously find them and hose them down to cool them and my dad was going around a corner and thank everything possible his chief(hes like a second dad to me) noticed and rushed him and ripped him back just as tank exploded. If it wasn't for chief he'd probably be dead and I'm forever grateful for him

My husband was in the U.S. Air Force, he was in the security police, he would frequently be called off base to assist local pice. One nite he got the call to a accident, when he got there the small pick up truck was mangled, he wasn't able to tell make and model. As he was assisting he found out it was someone from his base, when they were able to finally remove him from the wreck, my husband found the car seat that a baby was strapped in but not secured to the seat, basically it was thrown around inside the car like a ping pong ball, he has never been able to fully explain what the baby looked like, he just starts crying. He found out later the guy had just received a promotion and went out to celebrate, got fall down drunk and ended killing himself and his child. This was back in the early 90's, he still wakes up crying, he keeps telling me at least I didn't have to tell the wife and mother.

Such heartbreaking and truly devastating experiences some people go through in life. The first story... I hope that man is ok, sometimes we can't understand why we have to go through such life altering experiences. I haven't gone through anything as devastating. But I recall my Dad saying to me, years before he passed away..."It is good to be alive". I reflect on that often, especially when 'I' have a bad day. We all are here for a reason, I believe. Hi... New to your channel.... enjoying the stories. Just wanted to suggest that some sort of indication/list of when stories are stopping and starting would be helpful. I often leave the video and come back at a later timr. To have "time stamps" for beginnings of stories displayed (so we could click on them) would be especially great. ...OR... Even a significant (?5-10 seconds) pause would help. ...OR... A "tone" of some sort to signal one story has ended and another story will be starting would be nice. You could "ding" a bell... Squeeze a rubber ducky... Tell your dog to bark... Ring the doorbell... Verbally announce "Story #2" etc... DOESN'T MATTER!!! (could actually be fun)..... ANYTHING to help us start listening again from where we left off.

My father stayed at his friend's house one night because of work. The next morning he wanted to check on us. he dialled our telephone number. Some guy picked it up. He said things like shame on you. How could you stay at someone else's house knowing that your wife and your daughters are alone at home. HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? YOU ARE A FATHER OF TWO, STOP BEING SO STUPID AND COME HOME. The guy kept on saying such things. My father didn't understand what just happened. He asked him his name but the phone got cut. My father thought it could be one of his family members visiting our home. That's the only thing he could think of. He called the lady living on second floor to check on us(We lived on the third floor). so she climbed all the stairs only to see there was nobody at home. Yes,the house was locked. My mother and I were at my sister's school paying her fees. NOBODY was at home that time. Even if we assume my father called a different number, it does not make any sense. I mean come on he knew my father's name. He knew he has two daughters. He knew our family. STILL at this date,we don't know who that guy was. My father says it was his big brother.he is the only one who would scold him like that(my father's big brother died 3-4 months before the telephone incident). PS: This actually happened. I am not making up stories guys. There are so many stories I have about the paranormal experiences my family and I have experienced. In 1991 I went back home to Chicago and stayed with me family for 8 months.. I worked and brought a Volkswagen Bug from my dad and , one night I woke up early in the morning and decided to head back to Arizona where I was in college..... Before I left my uncle repeatedly said to me " don't get off the main highway.. stay on The interstate routes" . I kept saying yeah. Yeah, I will So when I get to New Mexico I see this little blue highway that would give me a shortcut , a faster back way to Phoenix.. about a hour in, it started getting dark.. no gas station, no nothing. . Nothing but desert and endless high hills. I keep looking at the gas and it's almost in the red . Now I'm panicking!! I pull over to look at the map. Turn on the interior lights.. my dog starts barking furiously.... I get spooked and turn them off.. all of a sudden I see headlights coming over a hill in the distance.. I get a little happy.. then BAM!! .. I'm spooked again.. " what if it's a UFO 😳".... So I just take off driving towards it... It was just another vehicle.. whew.. all of a sudden I was at a small hick gas station in the middle of nowhere... Nothing else but desert for miles... I look at my watch and only like 1 1/2 hour went by .. I was like "no way,!!!!". I know I have been in this road for about 3-4 hours driving.. it was the weirdest shit that ever happened to me, and it happened twice . ... Every time I was just about to run out of gas, I would come up over a hill and there was a station.. and I bullshit you not.. that entire drive from Chicago to Tempe only cost me $55 in gas ⛽😳😮👽💥
