One question. You connected the wires directly yo the AC or fiesta you have to plug it to a DC transformer? I have one but I'm afraid to cause a shocking hazard
@TheFlash88895 жыл бұрын
If you also bought a driverless one it will plug directly into mains volage. He was just using this box to switch it on and off. But remember 110/230v are not a toy, handle with care!

How do you connect 4 of these together on one large heatsink? Cheers from Aotearoa NZ.
@eksine5 жыл бұрын
get long heatsink, drill holes, put in bolts, put thermal paste on back of led chips, done, add fans

How do you wire the fan in?

You can get a 220v fan that size also.

How do you know what size heat sink to use? Like a 5w, 10w chip?

You can use any pc cpu heatsink that dissipates enough heat.

The German VDE norms and also law require 1,5 square Millimeter diameter of each wire. Please check the AWG number for this Dimension (around 22)

Brother! I am from India... I am planning to buy one of these full spectrum led chips for growing plants indoors. Do 30watts can be attached with cpu heatsink?
@thedavesofourlives15 жыл бұрын
think of it like a cpu - if the heatsink/fan is for 40Watt cpu will be good for same size LED (with thermal compound and fan working)
@chandimaekanayake87186 жыл бұрын
does the fan unit is essential??
@stevmoon6 жыл бұрын
yes very much so... I have a 50w on a CPU cooler and with the fan running the unit runs stable at 75`C.

Thanks. Have you any recommendation what to put on to the solder spots? Universal glue Fluid will better than a glue gun because the blue out of a glu gun will melt down when heat it. Edit. My purpose is isolation of the soldering points. I plan to use liquid isolation "tape " and Kapton (Polyimid) tape (light brown colour) on top. Am also using up my units w/ separate driver (~30 Volts), but the drivers partly don't even work when delivered (70 Watt/ Waterproof and Alu case - thus might bear electrical current but rather quality's the issue) Take care men (written November of 2023)

Standard soldering should work fine, I havent put any glue on it and haven't had any issue, still got these LED chips and they still work great.

Is it possible to attach a dimmer or potentiometer to those driverless leds? Or they would have flickering ?
@TechGuyCharlie7 ай бұрын
I havent tested it with a dimmer! But I dont think it will work, as far as I remember, these were not listed as 'dimmable' but overall these have been very reliable, I have these installed in store room and they still work great.

@@TechGuyCharlieHii! Super video you made here, these chips seems to be really really cheap but I'm not sure how long can they last, if like to use for growing plants and it seems it'd work, any recommendations? Thanks for sharing the video!!🙌🏼

Hello buddy great video by the way... Very interesting. I have some questions I’m interested in asking if that’s ok with you ? I might have missed something but you said 2 colours -warm white and cool white - do you know the kelvin values between the 2 ? I’d love to know for a potential project. Also is it able to be dimmed ? And would you happen to know the cri of it..? Thank you

Help! I connect my driverless cob led directly to AC 220, it exploded and burnt my table. What did I do wrong ? And my room all outlet not working, while the other house area fine. I checked my fuse box no breaker trip. What should I do?

@binarsobudiono83884 жыл бұрын
Driverless? I think your cob led only support dc current, You need ac to dc driver, If you directly connect the dc led to ac, it will burn. Woww i dont have any idea about the outlet power on your room, Maybe you had to check the outlet for powering the cobled, it seems the wire short, Or maybe you have any fuse around the house or another circuit breaker
@MrLennonson4 жыл бұрын
@@binarsobudiono8388 yeah there's another circuit breaker for upstairs.
@MrLennonson4 жыл бұрын
@@binarsobudiono8388 I believe I have the same driverless led. The information given that it's for AC, I wired up. One of it functioning okay, then the 2nd one blew up and burnt my table. Quite dangerous cause I got my face very close as I did not expect this happen.
