If this was to be remade today, perhaps some of the shows on this list would be bumped off by shows that have aired in the last 16 years. Offspring, MasterChef, Gruen, Spicks and Specks, Wentworth are just some of the shows I imagine would make a Top 50 list nowadays

The show was made a year too early. In 2005 Australian TV was only 49 years old. And even today our stations are still too shy to say who they are, remaining hidden behind the channel numbers that they were allocated.
