Actions speak louder than words. No matter how much "regret" certain members of the Pakistani civil society express about the wrongs, the injustices, the racism, the war crimes, the genocide committed by the Pakistani military establishment against the people of erstwhile East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), it is meaningless to the government and the people of Bangladesh unless an unconditional formal apology is issued from the Government and People of Pakistan to the Government and People of Bangladesh for the 1971 Genocide and for the systematic loot of erstwhile East Pakistan's natural resources whose export revenues were used to develop erstwhile West Pakistan (now Pakistan). This must be followed by payment of war reparations to all affected victims and their families in Bangladesh. Nothing short of this will do if Pakistan truly and genuinely want to reconcile with Bangladesh on their past treatment of their former eastern province.
