Welcome to Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2, the most ridiculous and insane battle simulator in existence! Create eye watering battles with hundreds of thousands, and even millions of characters on screen! I always thought about it while watching these zombie apocalipse shows/movies, that an actual army of fully armored medieval/roman soldiers with blades, shields and long spears would be a lot more effective against zombies than modern forces with guns.

It really depends, guns have a massive advantage at range, but up close yeah go medieval on them.

This is interesting. I generally agree with the comments that trained soldiers with armor and knives should be more than a match for zombies. But I wonder about the small details like how soldiers back then didn't carry proper swords, more like long daggers which were great for stabbing humans but ineffective against zombies and if they needed to aim for a blow to the head to actually finish them. Even if they weren't aware at the start of the fight I would assume they would definitely adapt and utilize tactics in their favour

By definition a dagger is a short bladed weapon. Roman swords were short swords.

I'm just now discovering this game. As other commenters have said, the zombie victory makes sense only given a particular set of zombie stats/abilities. If the zombies are just living human beings infected with a terrible rabies-like virus, then no, the Romans should make mincemeat of them. But if they're undead, with the only way to stop them being a devastating blow to the head, or by blowing them to small innocuous pieces, then their victory makes total sense. The gladius was actually a pretty small sword, really. The blade was only about two feet long. The way Roman soldiers crouched behind their shields, going for a headshot was difficult. They generally aimed for the midsection or the legs, and then did a lot of trampling of the wounded. This wouldn't work at all against zombies.

Apparently, the game is designed to use the GPU to do alot of the heavy lifting. Apparently, this is what happens when instead of tracking dust particles, light angles, and body physics, you instead have it track how many centurions are getting mauled by a nigh-endless stream of zombies.

I don't know if its the same as in the first game, but in UEBS1 when a zombie kills someone they spawn back into a zombie on the zombie's team. so their numbers grow with each kill, which could account for the victory

Not here as you never see the zombie numbers gain traction as kills flow in so I’d say it’s just death for death
