I have a Alaskan xt and freakin love it. Put a set of 60x set of strings, a 300 dollar sight, nice stabilizer and an ultra rest. It’s just as nice as my Darton sequel 31

I don't know why people would be surprised, Fred Bear was in the Archery business long before all the Boutique brands even existed. My first bow was a 25# Bear recurve 55 years ago or so...

I have such a high level of respect for you Tim, for being completely honest and saying how you say about you know that must be the boat but really it's the shooter because it's the truth but a lot of people will not put something on social media saying that it's them you know. So I commend you for that and I have the highest amount of respect for you for doing that man and it helps me learn as well. Thank you

Hi Tim, so there's a ton of guys already doing bow, release, arrow, and TAC videos. Not that I don't enjoy them all, but I think one category of videos that is missing is hunting gear, rules, regulations, license purchase, how to do a Western style hunt, things like that. For example, I live in WI and am just a tree stand whitetail hunter, but that's not to say I wouldn't be interested in a Western hunt at some point. Do a series of videos that goes through your process on things from finding a spot to hunt, what restrictions there are e.g. broadhead cut diameter, what kind of boots people should get, what you should look for in a pair of binos, packs, etc. Even how to make sense of zones, how it pertains to what license to buy, and how to read through that state's DNR information. In WI it's very simple, just go into a gas station and that's it, so trying to make sense of some of the DNR material for states out West can be difficult. I think an in depth "How To" series would be valuable information for anyone entertaining the idea of that style of hunt, and is a category that isn't really touched on in the KZbin world. I know you're trying to hit 100k subscribers, so hopefully this helps!

Would also be interested in more of your camera and filming gear. How you set up your shots for your weekly videos and how that might change with trying to film a hunt. - Walk through your thought process for telling a story via film.

Rules, regulations, licenses, that is all going to vary state to state, sometimes county to county in the same state. He could do one specifically for his location, but it would have to be specific to his location and not taken as rules for everywhere as western states all have different rules and regs. Gear, hunts, scouting, how to's etc are flooded through all of the channels as it gets closer to hunting seasons. Early year, it's all about bow builds and reviews, spring/summer it's tac/3d events, arrow builds, release testing etc. Late summer/fall it's all about hunts, gear, broadheads, etc. Every single archery channel usually follows the same pattern. So, right now all the videos you are watching about their bow build, release reviews, arrow setup and tac/3d events, will transition to more of the hunting side come July/August. Then there will be a ton of guys doing everything hunting with their videos instead.

Outstanding! We really appreciate and enjoy the TAC experience you all brought to us. Thank you so, so much as you cover this Alaskan. I am so pleased and impressed with mine. I will keep an eye on my bearings. I am putting 100-120 shots a week. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on how well things will hold up doing this? Many thanks.

The dynamic between you guys was very interesting. It sure seemed the Bear bow was definitely in sync with you most of the time. It sure helps when you have equipment that you trust and you are familiar with. I have had bearing failure in both Mathews and Hoyt bows of recent years, I often wonder if the bearings are made somewhere other than the U.S. Maybe MJJ would know. Thanks for sharing.

I really enjoy watching the bow/gear changes and testing. Im a gear junkie and love to play around with stuff. I dont have quick access to a bow shop and I havent learned enough to tune my own stuff, nor do I have the equipment so watching your videos is very satisfying for me. Keep up the content!

One of my friends bought a brand new Bear compound last year. He doesn't shoot it very much yet... In 6 months he's replaced EVERY part of the bow. Strings, limbs, cams, bearings, cable guard... Even the riser!

Appreciate you being real and honest. It's nice seeing someone not acting like they are the greatest archer of all time. At least you acknowledge your weakness and strength. Most guys have too much pride to admit that! Good stuff Tim! Keep at it brother!

You should do a bow build with older flagship bows. There are a large amount of older bows on marketplace and even at pro shops for a really good price. I went from an elite basin to a Hoyt helix. I got it for 300 bucks and was afford to add the accessories I wanted. I think it would be awesome for you to do something like that! Really enjoy your content!

Your comments on form are super relevant as that’s where the difference between a poor execution and great one is determined. Showing the less costly bows are fully capable of excellent performance hopefully will get more people into archery? It would be great if you would do an indoor 5-spot and shoot a 300-60x to prove the bows potential. Good luck with that lol. 👍👍

Hey Tim. Great to meet you briefly in San Antonio. Could you summarize the gear and setups each of you used and the philosophy behind the choices? Bow, sights, arrows and arrow weights, stabs, etc. My apologies if this was done already, but having it all in one video would be very enlightening. Cheers!

Tim, I love your channel and have watched for a while now. I had been shooting a Bowtech Realm X for a number of years and it's a fine bow, but I haven't felt completely comfortable with it and it requires perfect execution for me to get my best accuracy. I purchased an Elite Ethos this year and even when I don't execute perfectly I'm still getting great accuracy. I remember that it came down to the Bowtec h or the Ethos for you, perhaps take another look at the Ethos?

I know you mentioned the movement was on you not the bow, but going back and watching your shoot off videos to determine your bow for tac, the bear still moved all over the place while the others appeared to hold more steady. Not trying to talk crap about the bear, but if the balance is bad and it's not a stable platform to begin with it's going to magnify the issues you were having. What's impressive though is even with all the movement you had on your shots, you still shot incredibly good with it, which again makes it seem more like you were fighting the bow not yourself. Any time it's felt like I was fighting myself, form was bad, tired, shoulder not doing to well etc, my shots were miserably bad. When it was more fighting with the bow, the shots were still good, not great, but still good. The last few videos, it looked as though you were forcing yourself to make it work, and you did make it work.

Are you gonna test the PSE aluminum since it’s out when you’re reconsidering the flagship? The comfort to performance ratio seems like it would be up your alley since you liked the Hoyt so much last year. If I didn’t like the elite grip so much I would’ve went PSE

I'm new to archery, but so far it seems like golf. Bryson can take a $200 set of junior clubs from Walmart and easily beat scratch golfers with $4,000 club sets. It's more about the indian than the bow.

Man ive been considering the purchase of a new bow. Im too poor to afford a matthews or hoyt cause they are too proud of their product and OVER PRICE THEM but its apparent u can perform the EXACT same way with a bear as the “NAME BOWS” performed. Plus bears are affordable. My question is, is there any issues with getting ur slider to sight in past 60-70 yds without ur scope housing hittin ur arrow? I recently bought the spot hog fast eddie xl double pin for my bear approach and i can only get 60 yds before it hits my arrow.
