The Irish government has contracted out 25% of Hotel beds in Ireland for refugees according to RTE teletext a few days ago - they kept that very quiet....! Amnesty International reported a few weeks ago that the Ukraine miltary are siting their defences besides kindergardens hospitals schools and apartment blocks - essentially using them as human shields - and I've seen many reports from Ukrainians that say that it is the Ukrainian army that is attacking them - not the Russians....! You have a fair stance Aisling, but you're not accounting for numbers. Even if all the foreigners were perfectly well behaved, it is NOT their country. They have their own countries, somewhere to call home. Too too many are coming!! That is the biggest problem - the sheer volumes! And there is no upper limit set, or a time limit set after which they must return home, ever! Apart from completely changing our cultural identity, they are also largely a huge burden on the state. Charity is only charity if it is willingly given. What is happening here is metaphorically like after dropping your €2 into the collection bucket, your hand is being held, and another €50 is being demanded from you before your hand is let go. There is NO choice given. We should be given the choice. We DEMAND the choice and should always insist that it IS our right. Our poor ancestors suffered long and hard to build this country into the functioning 1st world country that it is today. NONE of these foreigners had to sweat and toil for that, nor did their parents, grandparents or anyone belonged to them, ever. It was OUR kin, our poor great grandparents ad infinitum who dreamed of a better day for US. Now that day is here, and we are being robbed again. I'm not averse to taking in some GENUINE refugees, don't get me wrong, but it is the sheer scale that is wrong, and the fact that we are not being informed or our rights being considered. Slán 👍🇮🇪

What I can't understand is why are not such equal facilities being provided for homeless Irish as well going back years when the domestic homeless crisis began? Why only immigrants or refugees with or without identification are provided with these facilities.

This is the exact same thing that's happening here in the United States. I have family in county Mayo. Just like your immigration issues, ours are similar. We used to have our border here sured up. And now it's a open highway. This is happening all.iber the world. Our crime rates in the united states have skyrocketed since we don't vet illegals. They don't need to check in. They just arrive. I totally feel your pain. We have had thousands of people raped, murdered, missing, etc. We have our own problems. Importing more crime is a total lack of regard for our countries.
