Chelsea, so sorry ya'll are struggling so much. It's a sad day that loving families are just trying to survive one day at a time. Most of the folks watching your channel have had their own struggles throughout the years or right now with the economy like it is. My husband and I have our daughter and her grown son living with us due to a disaster of a tree falling on her house totaling it. We all have trials in our life but God will provide if we trust in him to help us. Try to be patient and stick together as a family. Don't be afraid to explain to your children that things are difficult right now and things will get better but you need their help to encourage Caleb as it's really hard for him right now. I love grocery haul videos like yours. I love shopping at Walmart Supercenter. At my home, my 2 reusable "16-ounce" Oxo condiment squeeze bottles separately have Heinz ketchup and Kraft sweet honey barbecue sauce. My 2 "12-ounce" Pioneer Woman condiment squeeze bottles separately have French's yellow mustard and Mrs. Butterworth's pancake syrup. I'm obsessed with mustard and ketchup that I squeeze on my hotdogs, cheeseburgers, fries, shredded hash browns and diced breakfast potatoes. Sometimes, I squeeze honey barbecue sauce on my fries, hash browns and diced potatoes. I could squeeze mustard and ketchup on my corn dogs. I squeeze honey barbecue sauce on my chicken strips. I squeeze pancake syrup on my pancakes and waffles. Sometimes, I squeeze it on my sausage patties. I love touching the round, plastic mayonnaise jars at the stores. I love touching the largest Hidden Valley ranch dressing squeeze bottles. I love oranges and red grapes. You spent almost $500 on your haul.

I would encourage you to cook from scratch as much as possible, really stretches the budget. I always stretch my hamburger with beans or rice, especially in the helper boxes,saves half the meat,

Great job Chelsea on your grocery haul. Sounds like you’ve got some good meals that can be used to help stretch that dollar. Believe me I’ve been in your shoes. It’s not easy raising a family and trying to keep cost down so you can keep up with the bills. My hat is off to you and Caleb as you take on extra jobs. I love seeing how you help each other like putting the groceries away etc. Those are the things, plus things like dinners together or watching tv, playing a game that the kids will remember. One way to save on meat is to go to a Meat Locker, a butcher shop, if they have them there. You and your family could buy half or 1/4 of a cow or pig. Might need another freezer. But would save alot of money over time. You could also go in with your family! Its the best way to go. I go and just buy bundles that are offered. Its just me. The crockpot is your best friend. Might need another one of them also. I hope they have butcher on the farm there or shops where you vould save money.. Buy in bulk. GOOD LUCK. I HOPE YOU CAN SAVE SOME MONEY. BRENDA from WISCONSIN😊

Grocery prices are high but you could really save by making some of those items from scratch. You can make freezer waffles, snacks, and some of the other things cheaper. I understand you may not have the time but if you do it worth making it. ❤lifeatthenutthouse

Yes maybe if I had more time, but 4$ for a box of 24 waffles is worth it to me at this point in time since I'm so busy with my 4 kids, plus my day babies and cleaning and laundry for 6...just not enough hours in the day to do it all. So really just paying for convenience at this point 😅

Just checking..in your state do they have a summer lunch program? I am in Kansas and they do and I know Missouri does. They are free. Balanced meal and like a sack lunch. I would take advantage of this program. I used to volunteer and they were good meals! Also, check out what commodities are available...near me you just sign up and they are distributed at the library. There is also a church near by....just a drive through and you get a box of various items. In my shopping I find that in meat pork is cheaper than beef..we have hamburgers, etc. but alot of pork cutlets/pork chops. Half the price than beef. Get a group of your family members and go together on getting a pig or cow processed. None of this is a criticism on anything.....just maybe some items that you had not thought of. Having a menu planner also helps....it is tough times for all of us. Liked the video from SE Kansas 🌻

Well last summer they sent out P-EBT cards for the kids that were school aged, but they haven't done that this year. They do have free lunch meals that they have at our local library but it has to be eaten there and I don't have enough room in the vehicle to load up all of my 4 plus the kids I babysit unfortunately. Caleb also doesn't like doing the church commodities, we believe they are for those who really aren't able to provide and we are more than able which is why we picked up the extra work. we just hate that it's so expensive these days😅 but thank you so much for the info! Hi Chelsea, I forgot to comment to you , when you showed the sun dried turkey lunch meat , I had tears rolling down.. that was my Moms absolute favorite item to get at Walmart..we would always grocery shop together and she would get that lunch meat at the deli and little Hawaiian buns to put her meat on. Chelsea I Love your Family! It is ridiculous how much groceries are. Just wanted to mention but I live in Kentucky as well more toward the Northern way like 30 minute drive from Cincinnati, Ohio.....but my Sister's Daughter gets over the Summer like a card for food (I can't think of what its called) but the State of Kentucky does it. Where the school kids during the Summer break no matter what their parents make are eligible for a card per child in each family. I will have to let you know more on that. Where your at though...you may want to see what you can find out on your area if the school system does that. Its really a good thing here in the Carroll County area of Kentucky.

Well now see I knew they done it last summer but we haven't gotten any for this year yet, so idk. I know the school sent home something about them handing free lunch put at the library but it has to be eaten on site and unfortunately do not have a big enough vehicle to take all of mine plus the kids I'm watching for the summer. We are supplementing with beans for protein. Meat is so expensive. Crockpot stews are helping - beans, a little ground meat, stock, and veggies. I end up freezing a lot. I have a huge crockpot. We are making our own breakfast like homemade pancakes which I freeze.

We're in Southern Indiana and shop at Ruler also! I can get most everything I used to get at Kroger when we lived in Indianapolis. Ruler is cheaper than Wal-Mart but I do go there too. Shoulder roasts and Chuck roasts are high prices right now but We still buy them. I freeze them and when time to cook I put it in a roaster pan frozen with can of cream of mushroom soup and half an envelope of onion soup mix. Cook for about 3 hours on 350 till tender. Cooks really well and tender starting out frozen. Ruler also has fresh chicken breasts and thighs for $5 a pack..at least they've been doing that for a few months now. I'm headed over there now so I'll see. We also like Kroger brand applesauce and love Kroger cottage cheese which is also at Ruler. Good haul Chelsea!

I totally cringe when I have to put together the weekly Walmart grocery shopping. For two it is $150-$160 per week and it does not necessarily include meat. For meat and fresh vegetables I go to a Mennonite market. We live in PA.

I love to watch grocery hauls. I love chuck roast. I sear my roast carrots and onions. Then add beef stock potatoes cook on low 275 for about 6 hours and the meat falls apart. I only buy meat when on sale. Our schools here in Indy offer free lunches for our kids doesn't KY offer that? It could help your budget right now. See you next video. Caleb is a keeper for sure. I have to try the sun dried tomato lunchmeat. Never heard of it, but I love sundried tomatoes. Every now and then kroger has buy 1 get 1 on the roasts, that's when I stock up. Nice haul

Because it’s crazzzy out there expensive!🙃Now you have your children home too from school and they want to eat in the comfort of their home! 😆At school they are busy and no time to eat! Just their lunchtime! GOD IS GOOD! I am so glad Caleb was able to be blessed with an extra job too. Chelsea, don’t know if your babies like Nachos with rotel, velveeta cheese and hamburger but that goes a long way! Place on a bed of 🤭no name brand Tostitos and it’s DELICIOUS and reheats well! Put Jalapeños on for Caleb’s!😋 You didn’t ask me however I am trying to give some economy recipes!🤣🤭 The hotdogs you can slice an entire pack and stir fry w/cayenne and Italian seasoning then add marinara sauce to a bed of spaghetti noddles or ramen and it’s yummy! My son loves that so much…he found that recipe on the Sheldon’s show. I just make it my way! I am sure you make it work for the 6 of you! I haven’t tried your meatloaf recipe yet. Yes, groceries are outrageous! Im not sure if you guys like mishrooms, but i have been adding finely diced can of stems and pieces to half the amount of ground beef to my jar of marinara, (and freeze the other half pound of meat), to extend that longer. And when you do your kielbasa and cabbage, do you add egg noodles (or i guess any pasta, really)? That is very delicious and lasts for so many meals! It's called haluski, if you want to see a recipe....you probably know all this already! Hope you're all well!

The prices of groceries are insane!! I actually started making ranch with the ranch packets for Aldi. Not sure if y'all have Aldi close by, but they have better prices and good quality products. I also started making apple sauce, just to save a little money.

The closes Aldi is actually about an hr away, but I feel like rulers is a lot like it! And that's awesome! I wish I was more handy in the kitchen, unfortunately I believe my brother got my mom's cooking gene and my sister got her green thumb and I didn't get any of it 😅🤣

Chelsea, you have got to try the Kroger brand Hidden Valley dupe! The label says Buttermilk Fields Ranch dressing, compare to Hidden Valley. It is so good and so much cheaper!

Oh yes we will definitely have to fill in with milk and bread and the smaller things this was just a basic "plan" of meals for the month plus we don't really have the room to store extra milk and cold fruit at the moment. The fruit will basically be gone in about 2 days 😅 so we always have to be extra of that
