I like the simplicity in this and the gingerbread lawn chairs are so cute, I was actually thinking that perhaps you could have made the trampoline jello to give it more "bounce" I guess haha 😅. But this illustration was very cute all on its own. Great job Kasey 😁

It's cool that you put so much thought into what candy and icing details would be used. With the pots and pans being realistic, I think it works to have kept the gingerbread house that way. Would definitely love to see you paint a really fantasical gingerbread house sometime, too.

Oh boy the pots and pans prompt reminded me of Brock's infamous DRYING PAN line. :'D If it were me, I would've wanted to draw some kids jumping on a trampoline in the rain and shielding themselves with the pots and pans and chair. Aah, this makes me miss our old trampoline.

You totally could have went all out but im glad you didnt. Having the gingerbread house as the biggest part of the piece adds wonder and like.. fairy tale vibes. the pans are a reminder that "hey, this is reality!" while still allowing the viewer to be lost in a seemingly real world of gingerbread! If that makes sense. this is one of my favorite prompts so far!!!!!

i keep thinking about a normal home in the winter. You see a trampoline, lawn chairs, and some dead bushes put in the snow. You can see through the window, and you see a live Gingerbread Man looking around the kitchen, as in he escaped from the cookie sheets and pans and is *very* confused. That's what I thought of, when I saw Kasey drawing a gingerbread man.

Little fun fact: in Brazil we have this character called "menino maluquinho" ("crazy little boy") and his most important characteristic is that he uses a cooking pot as a cap (because he hit his head on one as a baby, so this pan is both a "helmet" and the reason he's crazy... Bc plot) (I'm mentioning this bc of the 3rd sketch)

This isn't really holiday themed, but you could have drawn a kindly old ant couple sitting on ant lawn chairs, living out of a human cooking pot, watching their ant grandkids playing on their ant trampoline. As a bonus, you could have included the trademark Burglar Ant sneaking around their backyard.

This is a really cute image!! I personally would have gone a bit of a darker route, like a whole bunch of soldiers surrounding a chimney with their guns drawn so that they could ambush Santa when he comes down the chimney!! Maybe Santa had gone bad, Nightmare Before Christmas style, or maybe the soldiers were the corrupt ones and they wanted to capture him so that they could find out how to replicate his magic!!!

I think making the house realistic is smart because you have the pots and pans in the background to show someone made this house and it isn't just a painting. It's not just a piece of art, it's a piece of art about a piece of art. And also it's very "cute."
