Born in Puerto Rico, raised in New York…I’ve always had a deep connection with Jews so I knew there was a Jewish line in my ancestory…I also feel that I have Italian Lineage, via the Corsicans that settled in southern PR where I was born…..great to learn that I was on track, now I can dig a little deeper…

We also have Sephardic Jewish people in Jamaica. We have one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in the Western Hemisphere in Falmouth, Jamaica. A sea port town on North Coast Jamaica. When I attended high school in Kingston, I went to a school founded as a Hebrew Academy - called Hillel Academy. It was one of the best schools on the island and had a reputation for having the best scores. Just a bit of history.

The lineage and history is more important than the religion. It goes from Elam to Syria to Spain to Jamaica. Solomon's temple needed materials and supplies from Carthage. Hence, the people of Judah traded in Spain and down the African west coast. Their are many many cultural retentions from that time like food and unconscious practices.

I found out that my ancestors the Delgados where Sephardi Jews and that surprised me. Cause nobody would have guessed that we had Hebrew ancestry. The Spanish inquisition created a diaspora of Jews to the New World and many of them settled in the Caribbean and South America. In Puerto Rico there's many with this same ancestry. I'm just surprised how common it is.

No before the Spanish Inquisition, if you read up on Christopher Columbus and his voyage to the new world when he came to the Island the first Puerto Rico he brought Jewish Interpreters because the Taino indians that we know of today were actually One of the Lost tribes of israel the house of Ephraim the Son of Joseph the Royal House of the Northern tribe I know this because I've done my research because I am Boriqua which the word Boriqua or Boriken which derives from the hebrew word Baraka or Baruch(modern) word for Blessing, or Blessed. The Puerto Ricans aren't Sephardi Jews or Crypto Jews at least the ones that have Taino DNA. They found many ancient stones of Hebrew writings that go back far in history, more then 250-350+ stones. Look it up. There was a book i read can;t think of the name but it was a early explorer of Americas and he went to America and he met tribesman who spoke a dialect of Hebrew and they practiced Israelite customs, long story short he asked about their origins and they said they came from the east with the other tribes and they went off and dwelt in near by lands, and he asked him what tribes and he said the ephraim and manessah went and inhabited the Carribean islands. Everything lines up based off history, accounts, and archeology. We must go back to the ways of our heavenly father so we can find favor.

This is interesting. But the Spanish-American War in Puerto Rico had nothing to do with this! The Navy ship was Harbor in Havana Cuba. Puerto Rico was already part of Spain not territory. Puerto Ricans already had Spanish citizenship they have the opportunity to go to Spain. There is a lot that people don't know the truth about what happened.

2 Esdras 13:40-45 [40]Those are the ten tribes, which were carried away prisoners out of their own land in the time of Osea the king, whom Salmanasar the king of Assyria led away captive, and he carried them over the waters, and so came they into another land. [41]But they took this counsel among themselves, that they would leave the multitude of the heathen, and go forth into a further country, where never mankind dwelt, [42]That they might there keep their statutes, which they never kept in their own land. [43]And they entered into Euphrates by the narrow places of the river. [44]For the most High then shewed signs for them, and held still the flood, till they were passed over. [45]For through that country there was a great way to go, namely, of a year and a half: and the same region is called Arsareth.

And those many Jews were forced to become Catholics, Perhaps my ancestors of Spain (only God knows) were Jewish...that I'll never know. But to my surprise I've heard that the evangelist Yiye Avila who preaches Jesus Christ had Jewish parents...Sephardic Jews. Great!!! *You're right! There are very few 'Jew-ish' people in Haiti. Most Haitians are Jews from the Tribe of Levi... The priestly Tribe. They still kept the voodoo they acquired from the Canaanites Hamites. The worship of the Baal-im [the loas]; the sacrifices they offer to them; the worshipping in the high places [mountains] head covered and waist girdled either in white or blue in culture attire; Feast of Harvest or Fete Champetre [around the same time] under the 'tonnelles' [the booth covered with palm or coconut leaves,... and so much more.* By the way, no temple shall be rebuilt until Christ re-gather true descendants of the Levites and Aaronic Priests still unware of their identity in French-Africa and Haiti.

I am 72 years of Age,I heard a Maldonado name meant what you said I am amazed to know this I know the Yaqui in Tuscon Arizona and also know of a Puerto Rican that is close to the Tribal Chief that resides on the reservation. My Grandmother was also born in Puerto Rico about 1868. my Grandfather was older and met on the plantation they were Jibaros. On my mothers side My Great Grandmother was born in Yauco PR about 1860s ? Candita Pacheco and she moved to Hawaii ,Papakea Plantation near Hilo around 1898 then my GrandmotherCanditaPacheco Borrero was born in 1906 on that plantation I doknow this the first mayor of Yauco in the 1700s I suspect they possably was related to the family and believed to have mixed with the Taino Arawak Natives because it was mentioned we had a princes from one of the Tribes in the Yauco region ,descendant possibly of Agubana linage they spoke Lokono so my Grandfathers name was Elmo Avilas Madina I believe from Bayamon My mother never knew her father behave left Candita Pacheco Madina when my mother was 2 years old ,She looked for him later i her 20 s and sent his mother my Crypto side and she was told not to contact that family, like she was not good enough .So that part of the story I have documentation my mother left me also I have never gone to Puerto Rico but the Cultura was always strong and our Traditions also remain strong

Those who live in Puerto Rico are from the Royal house of Ephraim. We are Josephs descendants so we do have have many things in us but we are Jews. If you have Taino DNA in you which majority of the Island still does for we are their descendants but those tribes were associated with Ephraim. I studied a lot and there is documented proof out there. We are what our father is. The Line of your forefathers is what matters, in Israel custom your mothers DNA does not matter really. The tribes were supposed to marry within tribe but the heathen nations always got mixed in. Assyrian DNA, Egyptian DNA so much different DNA but we are ancient people. Go back and follow the ways of our culture our God and our Ancestors. it's a beautiful thing !

@@MrBlutone If you're basing this off a DNA test, the DNA test don't actually tell you your bloodline dna but it tells you were your ancestors travel markers where they most likely dwelt in. They tell you in every dna testing kit that it's not accurate but it's a estimate. They would need the bones of your ancestors to trace your lineage and they don't have our ancestors DNA.

@@therealmicmountain no disrespect to you brother but that response was asinine. 1st off, like you said, which is partly true, the term Jew comes from a MAN named Judah, not a woman. So how is it through the mother? Plus, that term came way after Jacob. So no one before Jacob, including Jacob, were ever called Jews. 2nd, that ideology that you are a Jew based on your mother comes from jewISH oral traditions from the talMUD which is dated in the CE era around or after the time of Christ. 3rd, if what you said is true and it's in the Torah, show me book, chapter, verse that proves what you are saying. If you can't, then that means you are just regurgitated lies that were fed to you by liars.
