500hp 2003 F-150 Harley Davidson Overview

My dad had a 2001 HD F-150 when I was a kid. Sold it to my grandma and she has kept and used it since. He has since gotten very ill with lung/brain cancer. Hoping to one day restore it to its former glory and make it look just as clean as yours. Update: My dad passed away a few months ago. My grandma has since gifted me the truck and I am starting the long process of restoring it. Many years and dollars to go, but at least I have it and something to remember my dad by. Thanks

Why was the SVT Lightning’s 5.4L supercharged V8 detuned for the Harley Davidson F-150, producing 340 hp/425 lb-ft instead of the Lightning’s 380 hp/450 lb-ft?

the upper pulley on the HD is bigger, so it pushes 6 lbs of boost compared to the lightning which does about 8 lbs.

Clean. I have a Black 2003 also number 075. Just had my seats done and a lot of other work. I did the JL Audio and like you said it sound good with the upgrade kenwood DNX 576s and now Im waiting for my new radio. DNR 1007 10 inch. Now I just need more HP about 100. Any suggestion. Im going to give it to my grandson one day.

Hello my name is David. Super nice truck, thank you for the illustration, I really appreciate all your expertise and work you have done on your truck. I just purchased my first 2003 anniversary edition silver and black Harley Davidson F150 as a Christmas gift to myself. I’ve always wanted one and now I have it, my truck is bone stock 135,000 miles,runs great,no abnormal noises from the engine,very smooth,my question is,I want to buy a toy hauler, I have already had a tow bar mounted underneath and wired. i’m definitely going to get airbags. I want to purchase a (29 foot) Toy Hauler, the dry weight is 4871 pounds and I would like to haul two 800 pound motorcycles in it. should I upgrade to bigger tires because I’m 230 pounds under the the limit. what do you suggest I do to the truck to get it tow ready for this load. ( if this load is possible safely ) any advice would be greatly appreciated. constructive criticism is welcomed and taken well. Thank you sincerely David

sorry for the late reply, for a toy hauler or enclosed trailer I would definitely get an anti-sway weight distributing hitch, I use the Reese Steadi-Flex, it will drastically cut down on trailer sway when passing or getting passed by semis etc. And I would say it would be wise to run the correct tire rated for the weight you are carrying. Also use the tow haul button to keep it out of overdrive, the one issue with superchargers is they make boost instantly when you accelerate which can put a tremendous load on the engine. I always watched the boost gauge and kept boost as low as I could to get up to speed. Be safe out there

yeah clean trucks are hard to find! Lightnings are great, essentially the same truck just 2 door version and not as rare as the Harley editions.

From a Ford dealership, I don't recall the part number. It was the factory setup for the following body style truck. It took printing out both truck's wiring harness diagrams and some time comparing to make it all work properly. It wasn't too bad if you take your time, I was never much of a fan of aftermarket setups.

beautiful truck, ive got one similar but not as nice! i gotta nitpick. its a 2 position switch. not a 3 way. you cant tell your buddies you had a 3 way if there was only 1 chick... even if she changes position.

How did you add the heated seats?

I bought some universal heat seater kits from Summit racing, the seats come apart fairly easily just take your time.

And did you have to tune it after the quick change lower pulley?

Yes when i did the pulleys i had a SCT tune made. Pretty much any time you change air or fueling it needs to be tuned to be safe and reliable.

They tow great honestly, i towed an open car trailer and boat often, just stay off the throttle and keep it out of boost (keep it out of overdrive up hills etc.) when they are loaded up and you wont have an issue.
