I’m a big Beatles fan and I always try to log what watches they wear. Both John and Paul wore Accurist watches during the early 1960s, John’s was a gift from his mother.

Paul had that one Casio camera watch in 2001-2002. He used it to take the Driving Rain album cover and the final photograph of George before he died.

Great video! However, I’m pretty sure that the picture at around 2:30 is a 1518 and not a 2499.

You’re correct! Since Christian compared the 2499 to the 1518, we showed the 1518 for reference

Theo and Harris I meant the first picture was labeled 2499, yet it used a picture of a yellow gold 1518, the reference 1518 was in platinum with the bracelet. Both perpetual calendar chronograph shown in the video are 1518s.

Come on man. When are we gonna admit Rolex is not a good value. So that gold Daytona is a good value because it trades around the price of brand new steel Daytona that is already hyper overpriced ? Daytona’s have minimal manual work done on them and mostly as machine made, same as a Longines or the like

Yes, all Rolexes are over priced and worth in reality a fraction of their true manufacturing cost, but that can be said of all luxury watches. What Christian was implying is that a gold daytona is better value than a steel one. And agree or disagree, the Paul Newman is definitely overrated and not worth the hammer price paid but again the free market dictated it in an open bid auction like any publically traded commodity. If the John Lennon Patek came up for auction I would like to think it would be more valuable but not as culturally significant.

A Daytona might be many things -- but good value it is not. The Zenith El Primero chronograph is just as good and a least quarter of the price. So Paul Newman wore a Daytona. So what?

That Cartier watch sucks big time, and not in a nice way. Don't care who owned it. It looks like something Salvador Dali would do on his day off! Loads of nice Cartier designs but I don't like it or the Ballon Bleu. There I said it, I feel better now.
