Hi Alvers2 - Great video! At 24:00 - I play spin&goes for a living, and according to GTO at 20bb+, you play only 3x raise/limp/fold with your entire range. - 2,5x and under is only used at under 20bb. KTo at 25bb, it's a mix between 3x raise/fold and limp/call vs 3x iso and limp/fold vs openjam.

the sims you have probably just don't have different sizing options, i really doubt that 3x is the only optimal sizing, especially since preflop sims get very computationally expensive the more sizes you add. Also, exploitatively, short stackers are usually recs so they often just yolo shove hands (just based on experience), but you still want to play hands with them, so it seems reasonable to open smaller vs short stacks in practice.

@@justinchu17 Well, it would take you 2 sec to go check out GTOwizard.. all preflop ranges are free.

@@user-ns5er1pj3e you misunderstood what I was saying, the charts made by gto wizard only inputted the 3x size BvB when creating the sim, so that the sims are simpler and easier to compute. They don't allow different sizes other than 3x, limp, and jam. I guarantee you if they were run with different size options, like 2.5x, they would mix them in as long as they weren't unreasonable sizes, like 7x
@user-ns5er1pj3e2 жыл бұрын
@@justinchu17 If i remember correctly, GTOwizard used to have both 2,5x and 3x, and it was a very small 2,5x - basically insignificant, and therefore decided to remove it.

@@mikelicious33 Huh?! If you refer to "i play spin&goes for living" as me trying to play "cool" - I was added that so it gives a bit of credibility, instead of them thinking i'm just a "internet poker expert".

The 33 hand on the AKK board was almost certainly spew. Having an extermely weak BD FD and blocking the club BDFD would probably just fold flop OOP almost always pretty much zero playability and the BB has a massive advantage and there's a lot of reverse implied odds when we improve to a flush or boat. Bluffing the river seems mandatory but I can't imagine a world where jamming 2.5x pot on a board in which we rep almost no boats can ever be good.

Hey I got a question! What’s the point of using GTO and randomizing and mixing in an anonymous pool? I thought the point of doing so was to be balanced but why do we need to be balanced if we don’t know who we’re playing against?
@dane23131982 жыл бұрын
Its hard to exploit if u dont know your opponent. Yes you can exploit pool leaks but a true GTO strategy will always win(aka play better poker)
@mowgli90392 жыл бұрын
@@dane2313198 But what is a true GTO strategy? wouldn't that strategy change depending on how villain is playing? and if so, how can we execute a true GTO strategy without knowing what villain is doing all the time? (which I assume we can't anyways even if it wasn't anonymous?) I'm not arguing against you or anything, I'm just simply trying to get a better grasp of this whole GTO vs Exploitative topic. Is GTO truly important to learn and master nowadays to become good at poker?
@dane23131982 жыл бұрын
@@mowgli9039 the best you can do vs a GTO strategy is to play break even(you play perfect poker). If u deviate from that strategy against the gto strategy you lose money. Game theory optimal exists in many games and it does not change based on your opponent. But you can exploit your opponent by deviating from gto strategy to gain more EV from big mistakes from your opponent. But when u deviate it opens you getting exploited and lowers your EV against a gto bot.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWjMiGt3q7tlqNE Can you expand on this? I know this is a begginer question. What gives it away that 8s7s6h is bad for our range as the SB? How do you start to visualize that? Is there a tool in GTO wizard that gives me a better idea of what boards are good for whos range? Would that be as simple as looking at the equity buckets or something else? Thank you.

low boards good for defender high boards good for raiser, monotone neutral, thinking about who has more sets can be useful
