Amazing testimony Rev Miller, love to hear you again and again, Thank you Unitarian from Shillong

Today was the first time I heard of the Unitarian Universalists and I can't put my feelings into words. I cried tears of pure happiness while watching this. I never knew that there existed a community sharing the same values and beliefs like me and that has such a great tolerance for every human being and for the whole world in which we are blessed to live in. I am ready and excited to explore my own spirituality, become a better person, improve this world and share my love with the universe.I hope to find a UU community nearby!Thank you!Greetings from Germany

+ibelieveinyou98 I am so glad you found us, and that my sermon from GA was meaningful to you. Let me share a couple of places you might look to explore Unitarian Universalism further. There are UUs in Germany - you can look here for more information - www.uua.org/international/affiliates/global-hqs-churches. We also have an online community that includes people from all over the globe called the Church of the Larger Fellowship. You can visit here: www.questformeaning.org/clfuu/.

+Alison Miller +Ann Burns Thank you for replying to my comment, I will gladly take a look at all these websites. I just discovered that there are online worship services on www.questformeaning.org/clfuu/, that´s really great! Unfortunately I don´t use facebook, so I won´t be able to join your community there. Again, thanks for the information! Have a good start in the new week!

In 1 CORINTHIANS 14:34-35, Paul is referring to SPEAKING IN TONGUES! and women are NOT the only people Paul tells to be “silent.” You can't take biblical quotes out of context without corrupting their meaning and intent.

Isnt it wonderful to find a place that you can go and not feel judged or feel like you are being pushed to believe certain things you aren't comfortable with? I was really happy to find this as well.

I am a Erisian Discordian, Pantheist and member of the Satanic Temple, but I hope to find allies in the UU. There are so few people that would consider working with me to make a safer community for marginilized people. I need all the help I can get. If the local UU church eventually wants to consider me a member I will add you all to my list.

Well, with all due respect to you my friend, it's only Jesus that can save humanity. If "humanity could save humanity", by now, you would have thought we would have made some success. But, our Creator knew we needed a savior and that is why He sent his Son. I mean no disrespect to you in my response, I just felt the sense of urgency to respond. Blessings

In other thoughts……. I like the UU’s, and the pleasure to embrace the differences on accepting others, however, I wonder how they handled challenges, and adversity. It was a curiosity I had due to the persecutions that happened in the world. Likely, I like to see a break with fighting adversity to bring justice.

Thank you, Allison for your passionate dedication to Social Justice. This AM I chose not to attend my UU church and your sermon popped up. Physical limitations and age influence my desire to participate more often. The stories from the DC White House have been so divisive and horrendously counter-humanity that it has colored my world grey and black. thank you for offering HOPE in these turbulent times.

I understand. I too have been fighting cancer sober I was 17. I am now 60. Still fighting it. I'm glad you are here. No church is accurate in all things. No human either. I know there is a God. I heard his still small voice. Who sent me to save a woman. I've had visions. All came to pass. Witnesses for some of them. I heard Yeshua/ Jesus call my name in 2015. I died. I know what it is like to be in spirit. We do not die. Not in the way many think. I am not crazy or schizophrenic. These all came far and in between. Through our my life. Out of the clear blue. Visions took place. Again, they all came to pass. I have a witness that I saw 911 before it happened. Oklahoma bombing too. I saw where I would live in advance. Many times. A few famous peoples deaths. I knew end days Bible spoke of. Would be in our life time; at only 3-4 yrs old. We are now in it. You know deep inside. Something is wrong. This is why. I knew I would have a red headed child. A girl and a boy. I noticed the Bible seems to change with the times and gov agendas. Filtration of churches and all aspects of life. I don't know why unitarian churches keep popping up last 2 days. I went to your church twice. Years ago while visiting a friend in Keene. You are a completely different church. Than any I know. I have always seen. Yet, stayed quiet. I am no longer quiet. My life has been stifled and martinis for these reasons. The things that happened to me. Cut in tracks of climbing every time. As I hit top. More than in willing to speak of here. We are hear to support one another. Love one another. Not harm.

This is my first "sermon" I've heard from a Unitarian Universalist. As I listened, I kept getting the sense that something was missing from this message. It hit me, this minister never opened her Bible. Add to that, the message was missing the real solution to what ales our country and/or the world. It's the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It's not about a denomination and promoting Unitarian Universalism, it's about promoting Jesus Christ! Our problems in this country emanate from sin, not from politics or a lack of compassion. I know this lady means well, and I hope one day she comes to know Jesus Christ personally. Then, she will promote Him instead of her denomination

You have a valid point of view, and so does she. Enjoy your beliefs. The wisest people from all religions focus on the shared truths. We should strive to glean the commonalities and agreement between good people, despite differences of history or location. Some UU congregations are mostly Christian, and all UU congregations value other religious traditions.

The words of Jesus say slavery is OK. The words of Jesus tell us that we are born of sin. The words of Jesus are inhumane. Read the bible thoroughly and quit listening to those who would deceive you. Only humanity can save humanity. We need no others and have no others. Keep reading everything.

@@bubbercakes528 grow up butt cakes, humanity is how we got in this mess and humanity is how and why this world will end. Remember your words for your death bed. You have no idea what most slavery was about and clearly you believe your tv set instead of history, poor families sold their children into servitude to wealthy families so they could be fed and educated and be part of a family. Their masters were forbidden to strike/ harm slaves, many were paid and send money back home to feed siblings and dying parents, without this form of slavery many would die from starvation. Abused slaves could sue their masters for freedom. There were no jobs at 7/11 or burger king, you only know what CNN tells you about history, clearly uneducated and ignorant....

They don’t believe that Jesus is God. They don’t believe in a personal God. They don’t believe the Bible is the word of God. They’re the church the Bible warns us about.

You speak of wisdom, but you will never speak of truths! You will never speak of the need for repentance and the forgiveness of sins. You never call Jesus Christ the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. You never say that He is, "The way, the truth, and the life", and that, "No man comes unto the Father but by Me." In short, you are a heretic, leading people to Hell. Why? Unlike me, you think highly of yourselves. You do not see how desperately you need to be born again! Luke 24, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem."
@ciara71725 жыл бұрын
A god who would allow people to suffer for eternity isn't one that I would ever exonerate
@closerthanabrother97034 жыл бұрын
Ciara This God you won’t exonerate calls all people to know Him, yet you reject Him on His terms. If there’s only one truth, then you have to seek that truth. There’s not multiple truths, just like there’s not multiple versions of gravity. “My truth of gravity is different from your truth of gravity” doesn’t fly. So I ask you, if God is willing to die on a cross for you to show you He loves you and is willing to die in your place instead of you dying in your sinful state and wants to cause you to be born again and come into an eternal relationship with Him, how is it you think this is some terrible cruel God that will send people to hell because he’s mean?? He’s not mean. He gives people a choice: believe the truth and seek to know who he is, or be separated from Him after you die. Seems pretty fair to me. After all, He did create everything and died in your place to show you His love.

I don't believe in hurting people or even not helping those in need. But Imagine if this had person had applied to become a citizen instead of breaking the law. Once they did that, they had to exist outside the law. That person could not sue, had no rights, labor laws don't apply etc. They encouraged to come because "they are needed to pick the crops" (-Nancy Pelosi) All this "compassion" is just making sure large landowners still have slaves with no constitutional rights.
