5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' departs from Crewe

Was there ever a more beautiful locomotive in the whole history of rail, than the Castle? Elegant, sleek, powerful, aesthetically almost perfect, a triumph of imaginative design which stands the test of time effortlessly. The only fault I can think of in the design was the introduction of the double chimney but of course that was needed for other reasons. I never get tired of looking at these most lovely of machines.
