Update on the widening of I-10 between Highland Road and Prairieville/Geismar. The third lane is now open in both directions. Also, the Pecue Lane double overpass is underway, not completely crossing I-10, alongside the old overpass.

Looks great! Hopefully they'll extend that to Laplace. That should have happened 20 years ago. Are they going to redesign the IH-10/IH-110 interchange because that is a disaster

They’ve already made some modifications at I-10/110. We drove through there a couple of months ago and there’s a new exit that wasn’t there before. I think they’re up to 1Z. LOL As far as I know, they have the down ramp from the bridge (eastbound) up to two lanes, finally. They were supposed to eliminate the Washington Ave exit to allow for a second lane there on the I-10 mainline, but I don’t think that’s what they did. I haven’t driven on that part since they made the changes.

They need to fix that section from the LA-1 intersection to that split at I-110 because that whole segment is terrible and awful going through that interchange, you can see two different styles of overpass supports on the flyover

I'm glad to see they kept the concrete pavement instead of using blacktop. I feel like my tax $$ has been put to good use so far. 👍👍 I-10 from TX to Lake Charles however....not so much. 👎👎

I haven't been out to Lake Charles in a few years. Weren't they doing some kind of big project on I-10 west of Lake Charles?

@@504RoadTrips Yes they are 6-laning I-10 from the Texas state line to Lake Charles. It's all blacktop except for the median wall.

I think it’s going to be a while. They have a lot of work to do. Then they’ll have to disassemble the old overpass. I’m not sure if this project will eventually include an exit.

@@504RoadTrips This will be a diverging diamond interchange. A new I-10 interchange at Pecue Ln. has been pushed by people around here for quite some time. It’s part of an overall widening project that widens Pecue Ln. from Perkins Rd. to Airline Hwy.

@@tbuilding They're going to be doing a DDI at the new airport exit in Kenner as well. But I don't see any signs of them building any kind of ramps at Pecue as of yet.
