I will say this. No one in the history of hip hop has had an explosive debut than 50 Cent. His first album sold 5 million records in 2003, and then it sold another 5 million making it a diamond album. The single "In Da Club" was a number #1 hit on the radio for 17 straight weeks! No other artist will ever duplicate this man's explosive momentum into the music industry in 2003.

it's because every fucking rapper can't be themselves when they rap, they use southern rap style because they know without it they aren't shit. 99 percent of rappers today aren't legit. This song is a true club banger
@4CAST4Life10 жыл бұрын
> hold on now,, I agree with most of what you say,, but don't blame the South for it,, you must not remember OutKast, Goodie Mob, The Geto Boys, Little Brother, etc,, the list can go on,, but imma end it there,, I admit there's a lot of wack rappers in the South (2Chainz, Lil Wayne, SouljaBoyTellEm, WackaFlocka, Gucci, etc),, but last time I checked there's some wack rappers in New York (Nicki),, and the West Coast (I'm A Jerk, Teach Me How To Dougie, Tyga),, so it's kind of ignorant to blame an entire region in hip-hop that actually has people that can spit,, but of course the South has never been in the eyes of hip-hop compared to East and the West,, but don't take credit away from the South,, saying it's our fault for bad hip-hop,, y'all didn't give us credit when we had many lyricists in the game,, but are the first to be thrown under the bus for some wack rappers,, when Southern HipHop been since the late 80s (in case you didn't knkw),, there are wack rappers in the South,, true that but we also good lyricists down here,, stop stereotyping +ReCkLeSsErr0r..
@ReCkLeSsErr0r10 жыл бұрын
FriedChicken FourCast it's people being sheep and copying the south because they don't have a style of their own. I am quite aware of the south having good artists. I myself like Outkast, Yelawolf, Geto Boys, Young Buck and a few others. But most southern rappers today are wack, and while yes there are people in NY and LA who are wack, they as well are copying the south. If you look back just a decade ago, a true mc had their own style to bring to the table. Now everyone is fake, because they themselves know they don't have a style of their own, they can't write rhymes for shit, so they hire a ghostwriter, use a generic trap beat and use the same lyrical content for every god damn song. This is partially the south's fault but also other people for buying it and record labels for promoting shit. Remember when def jam had that unique place in the hip hop industry? Now they sound like the rest, a shitty southern trap beat, an artists with a gold chain on, and him "rapping" about the car , the pussy, the weed and money hes got. I am not saying every artist that comes out of the south is bad, but MOST are, simply because theres no effort being put in.

It sure is old. Wouldn't call it old school tho.
@therobloxcherry38064 жыл бұрын
@@BlackWhiteCater it kinda is. The artists and music sound just screams old school. If u didn't know what year this was released and listened to this for the first time u would think it's old school
@BlackWhiteCater4 жыл бұрын
@@therobloxcherry3806 :) Yeah doesn't sound like todays rap; surely agree. Maybe it's just my definition but for me old school always was NWA, Nas, Mobb Deep, Wutang, Deathrow Records and even older ones like Sugar Hill Gang, GM Flash. Eminem, Diddy, G-Unit, Dre with Next episode and other great artists of early 2000s on the other hand feel like some kind of 'Golden Age' to me. Here the beats got better, techniques sharper, and the whole genre was all of a sudden much more popular amongst many countries across the world. Maybe it's about me beeing old enough to witness the genre changing; Maybe it's just an individual perception.

I thank 50 Cent for the childhood memories. His music will always have a special place in my heart. Those were the days man, I can't stand that modern Hip-Hop. I prefer the 1990s/1980s/noughties Hip-Hop like 50 Cent. I also remember listening to his stuff when I was a young and innocent kid, good times. The noughties were different man.
