Osha would slap the taste out of those forklift operators mouths for carrying the loads that high lmao
@nicmadrid2941

That's the first thing I noticed. The first time the forklift has to make a panic stop, it is going to tip over forward and lose its load.

Great videos Dan! Thank you for making them! I'm an 40 something aerospace worker living vicariously through your eyes. My father drove truck and I have the highest respect for what you people do for us. The high quality of life we enjoy is in large part due to truckers! I'm kicking around getting into your business and I'm learning a lot from you. I was wondering about the wheel base of your truck. Is it 290" in length? You've shared a lot of the nuts and bolts of the business and it's all interesting to me (please keep it coming). Plus I enjoy just watching the world go by your windshield set to music too. Thanks SuperTrucker!

Been enjoying your videos. I drove a flat bed about 25 years ago and believe it or not, not much has really changed. Except the things technology effects. Weren't no cell phones when I was driving or ELDs.

+David Willmon Thanks for watching I remember no cell phone also. I remember when you walked into the truck stop there would walls of pay phones. Now it's hard just to find one payphone
@davidwillmon9267
@davidwillmon9267 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, no pay phones anymore. And most truck stops had all these TV monitors around the walls with loads listed on them. Don't know if they still have those either. Got many a load from those broker boards. Won't be going back to the trucking business but just miss it a little. Just retired from postal service. Good luck to you. I'll be watching.

Enjoying your videos. How do you base/space your chains/straps? Does it depend on the weight/lengths? Do you space the chains/straps so many feet apart? Thank you.

Need a chain wrapped around the load with a racket boomer, to draw the beams together...front and back.

Hey Dan, another great video!! i appreciate everithing you show us.Thks for sharing!! I got a question for you about straps.What is the regulation in the us to how to roll up the strap around the rail when you tight down ? it would be nice if you would talk about this. Have a good day sir .
@Gootz4
@Gootz4 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Dan! You mentioned it towards the end, but why is it that you like the short and sweet loads? While most drivers like putting in more miles? Thanks!
@yurunning5574
@yurunning5574 3 жыл бұрын
Shouldnt the head rack be on the trailer? It would slow down the beams faster and would not give them leverage to pick up speed if they let loose?
@tomklein3718
@tomklein3718 6 жыл бұрын
Did they make you weigh empty to be sure how much they could load? I thought the scale said 33k. You're not that heavy empty are you? or was that just a bounce...

idk why they dint stant the beams up i haul steel for years beams are good because they lock in worst are pipes and fabricated stuff palllets and little pieces
@johnkotaras7325

Shouldn't these be loaded laying flat? As they have the ability to slide underneath the flanges
@jimplantenberg8597
@jimplantenberg8597 7 жыл бұрын
So I'm thinking you have 6K lb chains; so if the load is 40K you would need 6 chains. You have 5 but then add the 2 4K straps you are good to go. I'm right?
@SuperTruckerdan
@SuperTruckerdan 7 жыл бұрын
+Jim Plantenberg Simple formula that I use 1 chain for every 10000lbs Plus a chain 10000lbs 2 chains 20000lbs 3 chains 30000lbs 4 chains 40000lbs 5 chains 50000lbs 6 chains Same for 4inch straps

why dont you guys have a head board on your trailer if you have a accident all that steel work is going to go straight into your cab we would never carry steel this way in the uk too dangerous
