At. 9:51 he makes a crosscut without the miter gauge ,running the end of the board against fence. This is dangerous. If the board twists a little bit the blade will grab it and throw it back at the operator with a lot of force. I’ve been guilty of the same mistake and got hit in the stomach with enough force to cut through my shirt and skin! Google table saw kickback .

Love the bird house and I like how you showed what to do when the nails were too long, I was thinking you probably had to rip apart the boards, well that's what I would have done if that happened to me hahaha. Thank you for sharing. And I love the benches too

kickback risk is pretty low with an angled blade, but yeah, shoulda had a gap block there. Thanks for watching!

When using a brad nailer the gun should be placed perpendicular to the narrow facing board. This will eliminate the nails from protruding through a board's face. Thanks for the ideas.

The longer finish nails rode the grain to the surface. The brad nailer with shorter fasteners didn't have the same problem

That cedar board was over 3 dollar last week when I bought one at Lowe's.

You're lucky. I haven't been able to find any cedar fence boards in my area in over a year.

At 9:51 he makes a crosscut without the miter gauge while running the end of the board between the fence and the blade. A slight twist would cause the blade to grab the board at throw it back violently! It has happened to me. Search table saw kickback and you’ll see a few examples.

Perfect sarcasm. The plan I used was mentioned and linked in the description. Click it. Print it. Get on with it. Perfectly.

My sons made a very similar bluebird house but the bottom seems to be rotting. They did not use cedar. What nails to you recommend using if no nail gun available? Thanks

I'd probably use relatively thing gauge galvanized brad nails, especially you're working with cedar because it splits real easy. Always use a good quality exterior wood glue too, and it should hold up for a long time.
