Mathematicians haven’t heard of category theory .. what is Vinod smoking ?

Most mathematicians go into analysis/PDEs since they have applications to physics and engineering. Category theory is really just relegated to homological algebra/algebraic geometry and mathematics that uses these fields like elliptic curve cryptography.

Great episode and guest. Having listened to an early episode of yours then this one, I definitely see an improvement with regard to the moderating and interviewing. I’d like to hear more specific details from Vinod on the areas of AI that he is interested in and investing in but maybe in a future episode.

Not saying the engineer gpt won’t happen, just we will need to forever have a competent, certified human to always double check for such type of projects. The same with healthcare, chemo ect.

I appreciate the wider angle lens, all the way out to the political. Thank you for that. However, one thing you missed, there is a rising (and politically moderating) force afoot, and it's a 3rd party candidate with 3 letters for his name. on the ground I see something happening. It's a long way till Nov. 4th.

7:36 I don't think it was about the cost of the intelligence, it's about where that intelligence operates and privacy. If ChatGPT could all run on the device and not send the information out they likely would have gone with that as the primary but it can't. Only smaller models can run on the phone or the private apple cloud.
