After seeing the Incredible job he did on the previous beetle, I'm really looking forward to seeing the transformation of the Ragtop! Thank you Larry for welcoming us into your beautiful shop and thank you Jay for providing this great content for all of us to enjoy. I like to have a gap too. but I dont show that very much because it is harder for most people to learn to fill it. I do like to start at the corner first so I can peel the old metal back. a bit more. It is a bit easier. Still wont warp if you do tacks all the way along.
@JimsNBHomestead2 жыл бұрын
Now I have only done 1 beetle in my day but I have done all kinds of other cars with a big emphasis on g-body and Camaro. I have always tried to run as hot as possible when triggering in welds on sheetmetal. It's a bit of a bugger no to burn through but you end up with a much flatter weld. Flatter welds mean penetration and way less grinding and thinning of the metal.
